Long gets second with a 4:09--he is having a good trajectory over his HS career--way to represent NW Ohio. Rudraraju gets third with a 4:12. Day is looking good. As always, outdoor will be grand.
With one event to go, Cleveland Heights had 32 points and Wayne had 35. It all came down to the 4x400 with both Wayne and Heights having relay teams entered.
In the end, Heights wins the team title with 42 points and Wayne finishes 2nd with 35 (they DQed the final relay).
And in second in that 4x400, just 0.33 seconds behind Heights? Olentangy Orange with Smith, Schroff, Rudraraju, and Robinson -- Rudraraju has got the wheels (see his anchor leg of the 4x800 at the 2023 outdoor State Meet). I am eager to see how he does at Air Force Academy.

Holland Springfield's Maira Scott scared Abby Steiner's state indoor 200 record a bit winning easily in 23.83. She went 23.20 outdoors last year. Steiner's state record is 22.73. She's a half second off but it won't surprise me if she is close.
Speaking of Steiner, does anyone know what is up with her? She has been quiet since her surgery last summer. I am sure that Paris is her overriding goal but that is going to be a big task.
I hope Ben Gabelman can redeem himself from the disappointment of underperforming at NXR and not making it to NXN. Looking for him to be a top 1600m guy.
These are the top runners 1600 runners and times that have acheives sub 4:20 just based off indoor that will be competing in the Pickerington Region (Region 3):
Ben Gabelman: 4:08.79
Saketh Rudraraju: 4:12.09
Caden Ozbun: 4:12.13
Matthew Schroff: 4:15.58
Ryan Smith: 4:16.31
Charlie Guerrera: 4:18.12
Weston Day: 4:18.53
Samuel Ricchiuti: 4:18.56
This seems pretty fast to me, especially for just the end of indoor, and chances are many of these runners will end up running faster in the 1600 during the regular season outdoor. It will be exciting to see who gets those top 4 automatic qualifying spots to the state championships.
