Ran 5:12, 10:40, and 17:42 XC as a Freshman, placing 5th at Foot Locker West in 18:33.
Sophomore year breaks out, places 4th at NXN behind Efraimson, Baxter, and Cranny and ahead of Werner, Rainsberger, Gregory, Donaghu, and Dani Jones, among others. That track season runs 2:17, 4:49, 10:14, and 16:59 XC.
Junior year has her best year, placing 4th again at NXN behind Ostrander, Hofstadt, and Jones. Runs her high school PRs of 4:45, 10:00, 16:40 XC.
Senior year, still super consistent but places 85th at NXN after a 16:32 XC earlier in year. On the track goes 2:17, 4:46, 10:05 and one of the top high school 5000m of all-time on the track with a 15:56.84 to win USATF Juniors.
Goes on to a great collegiate career, multiple time All-American.
She seems like she is perfectly suited mentally to the marathon, as Natosha and Cragg both mentioned in their interviews. I think she will be around for a.good long while.
Live over here in NC and have some intel that nutritionally speaking, things are not in line/healthy. Big ups to Fiona, but am worried about how long this will last…
There's love for O'Keefe from the loyal track/field followers. She has a great story to write about.. We'll read more about it tomorrow then the love will grow but mostly from the ones that only read FB etc.
