I grew up near her. I have always been a fan but she is wealthy and privileged. I am wealthy and privileged. My brother got into drugs while attending Princeton. He is clean now but he created his problem. Runners coming from war torn countries have overcome things. We create our own hurdles when life is too easy. She grew up rich and went to one if the best colleges in the world. Other medalists grew up in huts and they ran away from bullets while looking for their next meal.
Sara Hall and Keira D'Amato must be doing back flips. As well as all of the long shots.
There were 7 studs most of the field wasn't touching - Aliphine Tuliamuk, Sara Hall, Molly Seidel, Keira D'Amato, Betsy Saina, Emily Sisson and Emma Bates. Now 2 of the 7 are out and a third has openly been struggling with an injury.

Last night, I got a text from a running insider. See it for yourself:https://ibb.co/jGqSMdYI have NOT confirmed this as a journalist should (hence I'm posting it here) but given how quiet everything has been regarding Molly i...
I don't understand how some posters seem to get satisfaction out of this update. What the hell is wrong with some of you guys?
Exactly! Haters get about five minutes of arousal out of this and a weird sense of "I told you so!". Molly's life goes on - Olympic medal, shoe deal, appearance fees, and likely a lifetime of adulation and opportunities thanks to those great days in Atlanta and Sapporo. Joanie, Meb, and Deena are all still relevant. Molly has also achieved American distance immortality. Good luck to the haters at this year's Turkey Trot, Jingle Jog, and St.Paddy's Day Dash! May you cherish your hard earned finishers medal and t-shirt.

She's a good runner and definitely did come from a well off background, but did she really go one of the best colleges in the world? Looking at other schools with good teams, she didn't go to Stanford

I am a huge Seidel fan, but sometimes rooting for her is so frustrating. I know marathoning at a professional level comes with major risks, but I think something needs to be changed if you are constantly getting injured like this. I think it's time she finds a new coach, even though she would never because she is best friends with her coach.
I listen to her "The Buildup" podcast and it's sort of ominous..in the last episode a month or so ago she mentioned always riding that line between overtraining/getting injured and getting as fit as possible. Running through pain if necessary, etc. I was scared those words were going to come back around to bite her. Weirdly enough a similar thing happened with Bates- before Chicago she mentioned never really having to deal with injuries, doesn't see physios, doesn't stretch, etc.
Anyway, I hope she recovers soon. I really like her and know this is devastating for her.. we love you Molly!
Tuliamuk. She tore her hamstring a few months back and it isn't fully recovered. She said she has had probably the worst build of her life but is hoping for a miracle, or perhaps the heat to be an equalizer.

Yep, haters are gonna hate. The chuckleheads have miserable lives with nothing going on and are such losers that they somehow bolster their tiny egos by bagging on Seidel. After Seidel, it will be on to someone else. They're miserable & toxic focks.
