hahahah omg She is brilliant!!! So you're saying she made them panic on purpose, thenafter the race she makes them all log on to her app - they calm down and run well in track and now she can market her app!!!! this is next level
That's where the whole thing got started. Isn't it a lil weird that a bunch of fomer BYU runners are still hanging around college town with their cult coach running for a team called taylor made with no shoe deal?
And I'm the loser.... these women will be telling their story one day like Jenny Simpson did but about being brainwashed to give up years of their lives to advertise for a freaking coach rather than themselves.
A bunch of former byu guys are still training under THE coach Eyestone, and doing great. Are they a cult as well? I think the married ladies simply wanted to stay home for family reasons and not be associated with a drug fueled pro group of pagans.

The only next level issue here is your butt-hurt, little boy, loserness. Dijeet is incredibly good at what she does. One of the best. Your level of jealousy is pathetic to watch.
Just to do a quick epilogue to this thread which is meant to be the antithesis of most of the replies to this post:
The BYU Women were arguably the best Middle Distance University in the recent NCAA indoor Track CHAMPIONSHIPS. I capped that because the general narrative in this thread and others like it from the Nov 18th XCountry meet was BYU (insert negative language) at the XCountry National and they cannot run well in the big meets. Poor coaching Etc. It's a fair assessment as any team that under performs like they did, usually gets a negative thread. I just thought a positive response was warranted.
28 Points from 800 and longer races last weekend. Even more then Superstar Parker Valby and Florida. Included was a DMR National Championship. 3 Women in each of the 3k and 5k races. I would say they "performed" when it mattered. And not to demean but the two XCountry Powerhouses in November scored the following in the indoor CHAMPIONSHIPS from 800 to 5K: NAU (Women) 1 Point NC State (Women) 1 Point
In closing, I am not affiliated at all with the University. None whatsoever. I just know outstanding coaching when I see it. As I said to Coach Taylor (she may or may not remember) after the Big 12 Cross Country Championships last Oct 28th in Ames, IA: "I'm just a fan". Well done BYU Women.

I am not sure that qualifying to run in NCAA Indoor championship means you "performed when it counted". Scoring does, running good times does, and they did score well, especially the DMR and 3000. And the 5000 times were solid. But they did not perform well at Cross Country other than Frentheway. That is just a fact, and Taylor as much as said it right after the meet.
The times listed in post#47 although impressive still would not have beaten NAU and NAU had a bad day. BYU has an indoor facility, trains on indoor tracks so makes sense they would do great on indoor tracks such as BU.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think BYU has some history of disproportionate indoor track national success despite the Smith Fieldhouse being an ancient building (1951) (that needs to be replaced).
I just think coach Diljeet is really good at developing mid distance runners and they made indoor nationals a big focus this year.
They struggled because their coach carries too much nervous energy. Will always be same until that changes.
2018 - 7th
2019 - 2nd
2020 - 1st
2021 - 2nd (+ individual champ)
2022 - 8th
2023 - 14th
It's been a real struggle-fest at nationals for the BYU women
BYU was really good before Diljeet too. Pat Shane had top 10 teams at NCAA's 19 times for the BYU women. In a span of 7 years they had 4 NCAA team titles and 3 runner up finishes. in the 90s and 2000s.
They hit a rough patch as Shane got older and had some health issues, but he left Diljeet with a STACKED team. The freshmen in Diljeet's first year? Whittni Orton, Courtney Wayment, and Anna Camp - now all are pro runners. Erika Birk was a sophomore.
Now BYU women get so much money in NIL deals, an incredible advantage that Shane did not have.
Another big drop in the Name, Image and Likeness bucket has fallen in Provo, with address verification company SmartyStreets entering into a deal with all female student-athletes at BYU on Tuesday.
