Jordan had a nice career and made a huge impact on high school track and xc. Her high school success combined with the dyestat era really helped move the sport forward.
Jordan has not told the public what is going on with her professional running career. I think that she will never be elite again, but will race just for fun.
I’ve been involved in this sport for over 30 years and have seen it all. I don’t think you’re going to see hasay race at an elite level unless she makes some metabolical changes. I for 1 believe she’s struggled with an ED for a long time. I think she’s in most part been able to make it effective and perform well keeping her weight down in that way(unhealthy). But eventually it will come to haunt you and I believe the longer it goes the harder it is for you to change and for your body to bounce back. So I have no idea what could spark the change, my best bet for it would be child bearing. I would hope she would nurish her body very well for her future child to eliminate complications and their health. After that if she continues on a healthy Trend she could maybe have a resurgence. She just always seems to me like someone who has her own set of rules and doesn’t follow conventional wisdom. This is my best assumption about JH as I do not know her and therefore I cannot say for certain any of what I’m claiming is true.
More likely explanation is that she wanted it real bad, trained too hard, maybe too few calories, and she burned out. This sport is not kind if you over cook it. There is more to life than running fast. Hopefully she's healthy and doing well with other stuff.
Sara & Jordan have similar talent levels but very different pro experiences. Sara spent a great portion of her 20s putting her running career on back burner to support Ryan hall’s. She also focused on shorter distances & likely less mileage. As a result, Her legs and mindset were fresh going into her 30s and there were still racing distances to conquer that felt new and exciting.
Have you not heard of Sara Hall (neé Bei)???? I mean If you think Jordan is through at 32...um.. what?
She's probably through and that's okay.
Sara Hall is a different person than Jordan.
It's clear Jordan has struggled enormously with staying healthy in her prime years. It seems like she's found a different calling moving to Pennsylvania and training on her own terms. It's unlikely based on her past issues with health that she'll come back and have a hall like career.
Jordan moved to Pennsylvania? When and why? I haven't seen this on her SM.
No one amounted to anything on the world stage. Some it is too early to tell. Sisson is the only one that has done well.

The one that kills me the most on here is Mary Cain. There's no way to know, but if she didn't link up with Salazar and trained elsewhere, I truly believe she would have been world class.
Jordan's career to date is quite unique and does give one reason to wonder what happened. She was a HS prodigy, ran pretty well in college, but nothing extraordinary. She joins a coach who is later banned from the sport, and makes massive leaps in performance at the longer distances. Coach get's pushed out of the sport, and around that same time she can no longer run a half marathon near the pace she once ran for twice the distance. Not saying there was foul play going on, but you'd be crazy not to consider.. especially with how close she had become with her coach.
Substitute Herb Elliots name and mile for the distance and then ask the question. Does it make sense??
Um, no, but honestly her career path seems a lot more similar to Alan Webb (HS prodigy, bursts of excellence surrounded by years of underperformance).

My point in using Herb, was that perhaps Jordan was burnt out mentally. I know people think Herb quit the sport to take care of his family. That is only partly true. He said more than a few times that his primary reason for quitting was that he could just not bring himself to train mentally as well as he did to that point. There was simply no one tougher and he'd had enough.
It seems to be true of quite a few female runners who were "Very promising" and seemed to have a lot of racing years ahead of them.
Jordan Hasay seemed to be a hopeful to be a top American perhaps with a podium finish in the Olympics and other high profile marathons. But after 2017 Boston she very much faded.
Very much the same with Molly Sidel.
It seemed that injuries and whatever else will afflict an elite runner just took their toll.
You have to remember that though certain elite athletes are the "Fittest" people in their particular sport it is actually abnormal to push the human body to such limits and though there are definitely people meant to tolerate such things and be at the top of competition, others will not able to keep it up for long.
But also female runners such as Kara D'Amato and Sarah Hall started really winning races at a later age than their teens, after their late 20s.
I cannot be absolutely sure, but it seems Jordan Hasay will probably not perform at the most competitive level again. Probably the same for Molly Sidel. Also Molly Huddle and Des Linden.
But also, it seems the same goes for Galen Rupp.
By the way, as of this writing, The Olympic Marathon Trials 2024 are over and the top 3 females were Fiona O'Keeffe, Emily Sisson, Dakotah Lindwurm. Not to downplay their running prowess but the at the Paris Olympics the chances of any of them making it to the podium are actually not so great as there will be the top African runners there too.
