5 sophomores & 1 junior in this group.
They also have another junior who ran a 4:11 1500 and was top 7 on the XC team the last two years.
Jesuit LA has 9 nonseniors under 10:00 for the 3200. And that doesn’t include Crawford who hasn’t run track the last 2 seasons
And 7 of those sub-10s are freshmen and sophomores
Jesuit Rankings Right Now
Belen Jesuit
Jesuit LA
Jesuit CA
Jesuit Oregon
To me all four could make NXN next year which would be hilarious
Ahhh Jesuit. Perfect name for schools that cheat the system and recruit kids
They all have a shot, but Belen Jesuit FL is the only one that’s 100% guaranteed to make NXN. Southeast region is not one of the strongest, so it will really be a race for the #2 spot just like last year. Belen Jesuit will dominate the Southeast region.
Jesuit LA will need to deal with a fast turnaround between the state meet and NXR. Southlake Carroll will likely win the south region again, and Austin Vandegrift will be even better than last year.
Jesuit CA will be the best they’ve been in a long time, but an NXN spot from CA is not guaranteed. Great Oak, ML King, Buchanan, and Arnold Beckman look competitive too. JSerra is another team to watch out for during the next couple of years.
Jesuit OR will be deep but don’t have a front runner ready to go like some other teams in the Northwest region do - CDA, Crater, and Rocky Mountain. Franklin loses some varsity guys, but they return a solid top 3 and have some freshmen and sophomores stepping up.
Jesuit CA, LA, and OR will be even better in 2025 than in 2024, so their chances of going to NXN that year will be very good.
Belen Jesuit will lose a lot of seniors after the 2024 season but they have a great coach and lots of young talent, so in 2025 they will still have a shot at NXN because they will probably reload and benefit from being in one of the weakest regions in the nation.
2025 could possibly be the year when all 4 of those Jesuit teams make NXN
You should re-check those times now 3k
10 Wroblewski 8:42
10 Welsh 8:51
11 Fleming 8:57/ 9:26 (3200)
10 Williams 8:57/8:47 (indoors)
10 Fletcher 8:57/ 9:36 (3200)
10 Donnelly 8:59
And 4 guys sub 4:10 1500, 3 sub 2 800
That being said Jesuit CA has a whole group of freshman who are phenomenal including a 1:55 800m freshman
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
