I reject that a belt spinning under your feet at certain distance per hour at 1% elevation is equivalent to the exact pace outside for all, or even many runners.
I accept that treadmill training is a reasonable substitute for land running; I reject the exactitude that the EP's like to apply to the speed correlation. Why cannot the "Scientists" accept the fact that treadmill running is different enough from land running that it effects the "efficiency" of many runners differently, and quite often.
It is like saying that running uphill at certain degree is equivalent to running on flat land with a specific discount factor applied. That conclusion simply cannot be made as runners efficiency on hills varies so widely that no simple and exact factor can be applied.
It ain't science unless it is irrefutable.
