Jan, he's not talking about Sammy 2. He's talking about YOU. When a lazy, overweight old man tries to do speedwork in an untrained state (we can't really call your little fat-man trots "training"), the results are usually not good.

Coach Stensson was a good elite in Sweden in the 80s, 8:20/14:20/29:50/1:06/2:22, probably faster than 99% of readers and posters here.
Nevertheless, his quest for glory will be physiologically impossible unless he reduces his weight from 94kg to approx 75kg (210 to 170). The ball is in the Wizard's court. Discipline and self abnegation should be bye words of gold.
Yours truly, this morning, weighed 70.3kg (157) (same height as Stensson) despite no running (swimming, cycling, weight training). All about diet, fasting (16/8, +24/1), and food selection.

Correction, 23/1, once per week. Occasional 34-36 hour fasts. Give the pancreas a break.

Why? Many of us just love to follow JS's road to the Champs. It doesn't look good for him now to get in 20 min shape in August, but anyway interesting to follow his training to try for a comeback after many years a Swedish elite runner. One of my friends, an Irish master runner, told he was coached by JS some years ago and in short time JS coached him to a master personal best 5000m 15 min and a half in 1:12. JS is really an amazing coach.

If by amazing you mean terrible and if by coach you mean scammer, then yes, JS is an amazing coach!

Correction: Jan Stensson was a good SUB-elite runner in the 80s, roughly on par with an American college runner. Yes, faster than many back then, but SLOWER than 99% of masters runners now.

Why did you choose "Botox girl" as handle, Jan? Are you thinking about competing as a woman? I would still beat you!

Hahaha! 🤣You think I was that handle 'Botox girl' ?? Don't know who it is...just remember that great coaching mentioned.
I'm a fan of Jan the man, but he really needs to walk the walk and not just talk the talk when it comes to his 'comeback'. This is his opportunity to prove his system works.
You can do it Jan. Lose the weight and train 6 days a week, following your own Dancan system to the letter. Shock the world and silence the haters.
How did your American athlete fare at the Boston Marathon?
Dallin passed halfway at 1:21 but got cramps in calves . The plan to open up at 1:21- 1:22 and hopefully run as fast or faster last half. Started to feel cramps at 12.5 miles. He told he felt strong in cardio-vascular system and without the cramps should have had no problems to finish 2:42 or faster. Why cramps so early in race difficult to find an explanation to....has nothing to do with his training done with all ingrediences needed to stand the distance. As he told he felt great in breathing and so on and strong in body . Just the cramps spoiled the day. Now he will rest up for at least a week and then we attack his 1500m master best of 4:17 last year and try a sub 16 min 5 k. 🇸🇪🧙🏼♂️🇸🇪

Your athletes seem to struggle in the second half of marathons.
Phil - 1:10:03/1:23:43 Dallin - 1:21:38/1:46:37
Do you think they truly have all ingredients needed to stand the distance? Granted, a marathon is a combination of things, but the training is a major component of it.
