Bor fell at the last water barrier and probably cost him a PB, closed right up on Getnet and Kibiwott before that. Hopefully he's not hurt because it was a good run from him.
Will we see El Bakkali take on Lamecha Girma in Paris?
If Bakkali hadn’t started acting like a 3 year old (per usual) slapping his fists or whatever that nonsense was the last 50m or so, he probably would’ve shaved another full second off of his PR. Guy is probably the least pleasant and respectable person in T/F.
Really? You're butthurt by him being excited to set a meet record in his home country? Did you hear that crowd? It was awesome in there. He was hyped up and he should be. He's the best in the world right now and a complete animal.
He’s a national hero and it was a great crowd. Of course he was pumped and he should show it.
Just wait until you hear the crowd in Oslo cheering for Jakob as he makes a WR attempt. Outside of Budapest, predicting this will be the best moment of the season.
Two big names from last year Kipruto and Hailemariyam Amare both DNF
Honestly impressed by Kigen 8:15; two days ago he ran the KDF champs in Kenya (his 2nd steeple in 3 days at that point - finished 2nd there behind Simon Koech)
Kerley said he was just racing for the line, lol if true then that’s amazing, because he still seemed to have run a good race, apart from the gun. Nice turnover, no overstriding, pushed it on middle accel, maybe up a bit earlier than usual for him and earlier than he would like, but looked similar to me as in Yokohama.
If he ever gets around to running his own race then, we will see 9.7’s again.
These times were all meh, I attribute that to the starter and the crap hold. Depending on your block position it can be tough to recover from that.
I really liked how Tebogo finished, fast and easy. Blew past Blake, no problem.

That certainly was not him being excited - Bakkali is a terribly poor sport. He proves it time and time again.
Didn't race for the win? What are you talking about? He was in a great spot to win with 400 to go.
Yes, with 400 to go I was like omg, Jakob has handed Yared this race. But no….Jakob is just too damn strong and it’s a probably a myth that Yared is any faster than Jakob over a final 200-300 off a medium to fast pace. What data exactly is that based upon? Yared is NOT Wightman. Regardless, you don’t think Jakob can muster a final 25.x 200 if needed off a 3:32? Of course he can.
I never understood the Yared hype. In no situation was he going to be Jakob. I love the Coffee Club, but like any good teammate they believed in yared too muc

Girma can't beat El Bakkali in a championship steeple. Doesn't have the best kick for all his WR-scaring times. I really hope he takes his talents to the 5000m.
It'll be a few years before Kenya gets competitive in the steeple again. Probably have to wait for the current junior class to mature.

I think we'll see him race 5000 in Lausanne, maybe he'll double but I feel like he'll race the steeple still
Very good race from Nuguse. His first DL. He is going to be one of the strongest contenders in the World Championship. I was absloutely wrong about him.

He's an exciting talent and will do well in rabbited races. But that gold medal 🥇 may still be elusive depending how finals are run. He's giving me male Gudaf Tsegay vibes.
