I caught the race but missed the interview w/ Anderson. Anything of note from Valby--injury update, weekly mileage, race strategy?
During the broadcast the announcers per coach Palmer she is progressing ahead of schedule and Palmer is very happy with how she ran a few weeks ago in the 5k and things are good.
But in her post race, Valby said she didn't really have a diagnosis and didn't go into much detail, but that she has been working her way back. She was wearing a compression sock on one leg during the race.
Her strategy looked the same as usual - try to get out and push the pace. She had a decent kick on the last lap, but Chelangat mis-timed and almost caught her at the line. It was very close.

Thanks for the comments. Valby's strength in holding off Olemomoi when she tried to pass late in the race was impressive, esp recalling the ease with which HO blew by her at BU Valentine. On whole, the race seemed like an honest indicator of each (of he three) athlete's fitness and sharpness at the moment.

They said on the broadcast that Alabama did not rest up for the conference and have been training hard staright through SECs, so I don't know how much of a difference that made. But, impressive run by Valby nonetheless.
