Hey, I know the ‘favorite gear’ thread pops up frequently, so no qualms with deleting the post if people are feeling tired of the topic.
Aside from ‘absolute favorites’ that are like Cream of the Crop with Extremely High Quality, decked out in Every Technical Feature ever (stuff like Rabbit, Janji, not on sale Asics, Tracksmith, and stuff like ’metal vent’/perforated race wear), wondering what you’d spring for. I’m broke so won’t be shelling out for higher end gear, but I have hyperhidrosis and sweat a lot more than most people, so am also hoping to avoid starting out in old cotton based shirts.
I don’t own any running gear, outside of the gel nimbus 25s I was hoping to use as walking shoes that are too squishy and exacerbate my plantar fasciitis in a way that other shoes do not. Figured I’d use them for what they were made for, but wondering what ‘entry level’ clothes to pair with it to start running.
What clothes would you start out with?

If you sweat a lot I would look into wicking fabrics and whatever dries the fastest! There are loads on the market now and a lot even in the larger supermarkets like Walmart. Some of them dry incredibly quickly.
So T shirts that are similar to dri fit but not Nike branded. Decathlon is now in the USA and they have good prices. And thin lights shorts. Sweating loads when you're running is fine (and good in some cases actually, it might be an advantage) but you don't want wet clothes to sit on you. Or maybe you do if you're in a very hot place. The only downside is you want to wash them quickly after you have run in them.
But for comfort I'd look at:
Personally, I think a lot of the less expensive wicking products are as good as the higher end fabrics, they might not have all of the extra features but some of those are unnecessary anyway.
I don't know about shoes and hate to give recommendations on those.
