Disgusted that a guy recorded it then gloated on Facebook about it. Still think it’s really weird people LIKE to watch other people die. Just massive erections watching people take their last breaths. “OH WOW! I HAVE TO CLICK THAT LINK!”
Japan is a safe place because it does have guns. Japan has 310k guns for a population with a population of 127 million. The U.S has 434 million guns for a population of 332 million.
Secondly, unfortunately for your marine vet, all witnesses said that no one was attacked. Jordan made people feel uncomfortable and harrassed. Because these actions aren't life threatening or violent, the law will state each person was free to either not engage or transfer cars.
I wasn’t on this subway ride but I’ve been riding the NYC subway regularly since pre 9/11 days. Do I know all the facts of what happened on this ride? No. However, over 2 decades of riding the NYC subway I’ve seen dozens of people assaulted, harassed, and abused. I’d bet the house that the man that died was relentlessly harassing people on that train.
Do you know how it feels to sit on a train just to goto work to feed your family and a deranged lunatic is acting so erratically you have to pray they don’t have a gun or knife or that you don’t do anything to make them direct their outburst to you? No, you have no clue. So you can say all you want “WE DONT KNOW THE FACTS” but the truth is the guy who put him in the headlock is what every commuter wishes they had the physical strength or courage to do. Play stupid games and harass people and win stupid prizes.
Same here. I've been on subway rides with deranged people, some with knives. If the vagrant was just pinned down and didn't die the marine would be called a hero by everyone, instead he's a racist killer to some.
Well said. I’m from NY and the subways have gotten real uncomfortable in the last few years. I had a strung out homeless dude harass me recently bc he thought I took a picture of him. I had to placate him by showing my phone photo gallery because he was clearly unwell and I didn’t know what he would do. I fed into his story to avoid a confrontation.
I’m not saying Jordan deserved to die. But he was threatening people and saying he didn’t mind going to jail. Stuff like this is commonplace for New Yorkers. This whole incident is sad, and IMO, is a result of NYC politicians not being tough enough on career criminals.
this dude had 40+ arrests and punched a a 67 year old woman across the face. Why is he allowed to roam in public?
It’s also sad because this dude clearly had the chips stacked against him given his environment. His mom was murdered and I somehow doubt he had a supporting family structure. To some degree, he’s a product of his environment.

I too rode the NYC subway on the daily back in the 1980s, mostly the 1 and the A. Having a “deranged” person enter the care was a routine occurrence, often an unhoused and clearly mentally ill person. Often these were people you have seen multiple times and sort of knew their routine, and overwhelmingly they were totally harmless. You just need to give them space. The typical scenario is the car is full of riders and though it’s unpleasant it’s clear there is no real threat. Is it possible this person crossed the line and immediate action needed to be taken? Maybe, but it does not sound like it. What was going on with the train anyway? I never rode this line, but is there a section where it’s 15 minutes between stops? Didn’t somebody notify the conductor/operator and or the transit police immediately? They would have boarded at the next stop. Anyway, I think the marine is in trouble. I don’t think his actions are going to be found to be justified under the circumstances and given the available alternatives, but this conclusion is based on incomplete information and my general knowledge of these encounters, but not this one in particular.
Here's a crazy thought. Maybe if you act civilized to other people in public, they won't feel threatened and possibly defend themselves. Other people are not responsible for tolerating your violence regardless of how many mental health issues and drug addictions you have.
You know why Japan is a nice place to live? It's because they don't think it's totally normal to have someone threatening their lives on the subway/street. How you can have deluded yourself in to thinking that a violent man threatening to kill others is the victim blows my mind.

In a fair system, it doesn’t matter how the witnesses felt, only how Jordan felt. But considering courts nowadays feel the need to prosecute if the defendant is white and the deceased is black, he is probably screwed.

In NY state you can only use deadly force if you think your life is in danger. I don’t think the prosecutors or a jury are going to conclude that the marine was justified in thinking his life was in danger regardless of what he claims. I’m sorry the case is going to become a political sh-T show. AOC accused him of murder without knowing the facts (sh-t show) and the next thing you know the marine will appear at a Trump rally (sh-t show), but that’s life in America. When you peel all of that away, he’s likely going to be prosecuted and likely convicted of a lesser manslaughter charge. The marine had options other than choking this man for 15 minutes.

After the George Floyd disaster you’d think that someone on the train might have tapped the Marine and say, “hey buddy, I think he’s out?” The whole train car is responsible for not speaking up. OR the entire train car was supportive of the move as they felt threatened.
This is unfortunately typical of reporting, esp. where race is a factor. People on both sides of the divide are all too eager to post inflammatory statements without having all the facts. All they want is to whip up a frenzy for their narrative.
None of us know what went down. We weren't there. Did the deceased make moves toward the marine sufficient enough for him to put the deceased in a chokehold that ultimately resulted on his death? This is not clear. For those citing the deceased's prior arrests it's irrelevant to the actions taken. All that matters is what the deceased did or didn't do at the time of the incident and what the marine did. There are so many questions to be answered. If the marine felt threatened and a reasonable person agreed that the deceased's actions were threatening why didn’t the marine just tackle him and hold him for law enforcement to arrive? Of course a reasonable person might conclude that the deceased's movements, while erratic, were not threatening. Did the deceased produce any sort of weapon? So far we're not hearing that. I have more questions but I always try to keep an open mind before passing judgement.

I ran RNR vegas this year. Someone got shanked on the bus just a block from the course while we were running. I think we started a few minutes late and that may have been why. Sorta same thing. One guy said he needed to get off immediately because another guy was acting like a lunatic. That lunatic stabbed the guy to death that complained.
But also, no one needs to be in a chokehold for 15 min. Like my post above, this marine had an adrenalin erection showing everyone how tough he is. 15 min!? Come on! How many stops did he have this guy? Put the guy down. Call the cops. Takes a few minutes. Again, in vegas, the transit cops came on real quick when some whack job didn’t want to pay for the deuce.

Why would they notify the cops when they need content for their tiktok? 15 min of suffocating someone has to be like 20 tik tok videos.
Did the killer know he was a "career criminal"? Did anything he do deserve his execution? When we refer to people as "criminals" we reduce their humanity and allow for loser "heros" to murder for no reason

Ny guess is a Criminally negligent charge and a suspended sentence at worse.

so he deserved to be killed because people were "uncomfortable"

I’m also white and I’m upset and angry about this also this morning. I’m in a real tizzy like you.
Just want you to know you’re not alone and I’m sending a cyber hug.
Scores of people have been assaulted by crazy homeless people in the NYC subway over the past couple years. Innocent commuters have been pushed in front of trains. Old people sucker punched and killed. Does anyone protest for those victims? No
But here, a citizen, not a trained cop, restrains a man acting erratically and threatening people who are all stuck with him inside a subway car with no way to avoid the crazed person. This is what gets people out to protest?
Witnesses there said they did not expect the man would die being restrained.
As someone who commutes to NYC, I can't blame the guy for restraining the man. It's a scary situation being locked in a subway car with someone behaving and talking crazy like that.

Unless your life or the life of others were in imment danger of being taken, you just can't murder people because they are a raging A-hole and cursed you out.
What the F is wrong with you.
That guy and his friends are going to prison. Not for 1st degree murder, but easily for manslaughter.

Who said I’m upset?
The deceased should have referenced the f around and find out charts.
