Having set the fastest ever debut marathon at Valencia last year of 2:01:53 it will be interesting to see what Kiptum can run at London. My thoughts are if he has a good day, good weather and good pacing Kipchoge’s course record of 2:02:37 could be under threat.
TOTALLY. It's crazy but my opinion of Kipchoge has been aletered over the last 6 days.
Kipchoge is Federer. Amazing and so damn consistent but I don't think we've ever seen a peak like today from Kipchoge. At his peak, I think Kiptum is a little bit better than Kipchoge just like Djokovic vs Federer.

I don’t know if I’d go that far yet. Kelvin Kiptum does seem to have the swagger and he’s 2/2 with crazy fast times (and second halves). But Kipchoge backed up the fast course wins with Olympic titles too, so we’ll see if Kiptum does that in Paris. I still also wonder if Jacob Kiplimo is going to surpass pretty much everyone when it’s all said and done. Aregawi will be damn good as well.

Not just a little bit better. A lot better. He ran the second fastest marathon ever like a tactical race. Just try and wrap your head around the splits he threw down in the second half. Even splits he is under 2.
My crystal ball came in handy! Incredible run by Kiptum!

The sport should want Kiptum to be better. I don't understand the opposition. If the event is dominated by a 38 year old guy that demonstrates the caliber of the field isn't anywhere close to what it should be.
Marathoning is long overdue for a course correction toward younger. It shouldn't be a glorified senior tour.
Once the event is trending younger the times will be faster.
