Think I’ll finally be leaving this thread (and Spencer) behind at last. I’m not sure why I am watching a 26 year old man run average HS times and this video, with Nick Symmonds running ability minus Nick Symmonds community collaboration, was the nail in the coffin. Rober Biebert, you are the man
Every video with a sponsor is gonna be $300-1000 not counting cpm, or watch time, or merch sales. He makes more than 10k a year that's for sure. Probably makes 40-70k a year from youtube + allies income + parents help, he is probably fairly comfortable. I hate on him a lot but saying he makes 10k from youtube with his views/subs/sponsors tells me some of you know nothing about youtube lol.
lol yeah idk about that, highly doubt he is making 40-70k on youtube especially with all the changes in recent years
face it his best running since college was when his dad was coaching him, he has squandered many good years of running careers screwing around and not committing to training
I have been watching his channel unenthusiastically since he ran 3:39.97. It has always been clear to me that he didn't grasp the fundamental importance of base training, and he thought he was one of those rare people best served by training 35 mpw in college and 55-60 mpw as a pro.
I averaged 70 mpw for a long period one time, for most of the year actually. It was the year after 10th grade track season.
It's hard to believe that he ran that race in a Mario costume a year ago, and this thread was started then. It seemed more like 4-5 months ago, just before Christmas. Think about what a waste the last year has been, making two lame videos a month, not making any progress in running, no effort towards a graduate degree, no movement towards getting married.
I just don’t understand what’s supposed to be the draw to watch his channel. At first people followed his channel because he was a fast college runner documenting his training and it was really interesting. It was cool to see him go to boulder then join the brooks beasts.
It was fun to watch him run a 7:58 3k/3:42 1500m training with his dad. But once he joined up with Ari it’s like he stopped trying. He was running 50ish miles a week with 5:25 mile repeats. And then would race a steady stream of 4:09 miles. That started to seem sad but now he’s not even training seriously.
It’s a shame because he’s a likeable guy, but it’s kind of bleak to see a promising college runner at an elite school turn into a YouTube hobbyjogger avoiding getting a real job. Like what’s the long term goal here is he really gonna do that for the next ten years?
For his own sake I hope Spencer finds a passion/career outside of YouTube and running. That’s not to say he should quit running, but this prolonged adolescence he’s in can’t be truly enjoyable

So YT + allie's bank + mom/dad = he could actually get a real job by himself somewhere.
Even with sponsors he is probably making 10-20k a year then fleecing off Allie and parents.
I actually thought the Croc mile record was pretty cool. He’s coming back from injury so we will see what comes next. He’s dropped hints about becoming a local legend. One idea is that it could be Bigfoot related but we have to watch to find out.
Gotta say these last 2 posts are weird af. Worries about another man (who's 26!) "making progress towards getting married" or "getting a real job"....lol so so weird.
Let me guess: you're from small towns where no one leaves or has any ambition and just start being career men early on + wife the first thing that comes along, popping out 3 kids by mid/late 20s and living the most boring, risk-adverse life ever in the place you grew up?
