Allie O. chased down second place in that last straight-away for home!
I should clarify, this is what I think happened, based upon the Twitter video. It is how I pictured it in my mind.
The Twitter video indicated she was in third at the 2nd 180 turnaround, and still needed to cover some distance to catch up. The last distant shot when Galvan crossed the line was not clear. Hopefully they will upload a better YouTube video as mentioned on the Twitter feed, and Allie may likely provide more details on her channel.

Congrats to Allie for a great race!
The race results page at athlinks.com says Allie passed 2M in 10:15 in 3rd, while the 2nd place runner passed 2M in 10:06. So, yeah, Allie did some work in the 3rd mile...

In the earlier portion of this thread, I gave some suggestions on running the course, with the possibility Allie may read it. I specifically mentioned that last turn for home, comparing it too her workout’s all-out 400m. It was as if her race played it out that way.
In the Twitter video, when Galvan crosses the line, it looks there may be two bodies battling it out further down the straight.
Interesting trivia that Dominique Scott captured 2nd place on this course in a time of 15:48. If I remember correctly, Allie stunned the NCAA cross-country field as a freshman, the year Scott was a Senior.
Haha, kind of happy but not that surprised. Is anyone ever when their instinct proves right? I'm Alaskan and have noticed, if not always closely followed her results since maybe her earliest Mt. Marathon races as a little kid.
I'm not sure that mattered though. I took a peek at last year's results, had already watched her last YouTube workout, knew her last race result and the conditions of that race, and just went with my first guesses.
I've been on LRC since the beginning, sometimes posting under my registered name zzzz, but go with random unregistered names mostly these days. My last contest won here was a TMADDDHASFNE-started prediction contest, so not a first time best/or perfect prediction.
It will be interesting to see how she rates her performance. She’s still coming off the trauma of dealing with her ED and essentially self-coached. No, I don’t think Ari as a real coach. She spends considerable time on the stationary bike, so her actual mileage is low. I’ll be interested to see how she does in her summer trail running races.
If she can translate the trail/mountain fitness to more competitive times on the roads then she should try the steeple or 10k. Hopefully, she can stay injury free and do well in whatever running event she chooses.
I hope that she does well. After this her sponsor will have her running all kinds of odd distance mountain and trail runs of various lengths. Will we ever see her on the track or running 5K's and 10K's on the road again?
I thought she had switched to trail or mountain running...?
She is but has one or two more road races then all trail I think.
