Yes She is suspect. Reminds me of Desiree Linden being outraged with Albertos athletes taking thyroid meds. Then reveals in her book that she was taking thyroid meds at the same time as she was outraged.

Maybe, but I'm saying that Sara isn't the most suspicious elite athlete. I agree with your breakdown of the time savings of the CIM course and supershoes, except that the shoes don't give everybody 4-5 minutes across the board. There's a lot more to learn about how the shoes work for individual athletes, but I suspect some athletes get 1-2 min savings, while others may be getting even more than 5 minutes. Laboratory data suggest substantantial variation across athletes in response.

I've been spinning my wheels trying to make sense of recent performances, particularly among American women. Some improvements are so vast that a "super responder" effect is the only reasonable explanation aside from PEDs. Some athletes have demonstrated negligible or modest improvements with shoes while others have gone from sub-elite to world class. I don't now if anybody remembers Lisa Stublic (Nemec) from several years ago, but the kind of performance improvement she demonstrated before getting busted for PEDs is of the same magnitude that we're seeing all the time now. It might be the shoes, but it's so difficult to suss out.

Comical thread, actually. Some of you were joking about it. But the picture was right there. Many of us saw the thread and therefore, the Nikes. Do the same here. Post the smoking gun photo and we will all laugh about it. Until then, she hasn't worn them as far as I'm concerned.

How so? Explain why you don't think these things have contributed to her longevity and consistency in times as she ages.

My instinct is that distance running has a PED problem and that a handful of US runners are very likely doping. However, the shoes seem to have a huge impact on some people (a pretty good impact on most); in short, I'm entertaining the possibility that a few of these people are getting insane benefits from the shoes.

Wrong.the americans are the real world champions of doping,especially in sprints,hurdles and field events,as well as in their colleges.They churn out athlete after athlete after athlete in a never ending production line,and most of them look like theyve been grown in a laboratory.

Sara is PRing in longer events. That's seen in female runners who continue to train at an elite level in their mid 30's to 40's.

Her daughters are from Ethiopia (they could be homeschooled or on spring break). Makes sense to bring them to their homeland. Sara has always moved around and traveled prior as well.

She is there for a charity as well (see her IG).

The biggest thing here is that Sara Hall is just really naive.

The late 20th century brand of Evangelical Christianity that she subscribes to is pretty antithetical to critical thinking.

What is she on about tweeting prosecute as it creates a risk for everyone involved ? ...but of a weird statement. Is it the risk of being caught, careers over that she's worried about and how much stress it causes athletes and everyone involved. Is she saying criminalize it everywhere and we can reduce the stress for everyone......or am I overthinking what she wrote. She didn't say it cheats people, she said it creates risk.
