Psal teams (hunter and btech) are looking stronger than many of the upstate teams right now
Section 4 Class A/B championships was today, Corning had guys go 9:32, 9:46 and 9:55 in steeple, 4:23 and 4:25 in 1600, and three 1:58s in 800 (all separate runners). Six are seniors though.
Tim Smith of Vestal, an All-State cross country runner (177 speed rating), ran 54.78 in the 400 hurdles. How many guys do you know who can run 16:35 at Bowdoin Park and still be better at the 400h?
8th-grader Tsadia Bercuvitz ran 4:40 to win the 1500 over NXN qualifier Sarah Lawson, and Vicky Mordvinova ran 2:13 to win the 800, pretty fast for an NXN qualifier.
Corning swept Class A team titles, as per usual, while Owego and Vestal split the Class B titles.
Corning isn’t looking too shabby for next year even after losing a huge senior class (though they have long ways to go to catch up to St Anthony’s and Saratoga)
Cornfield 11 9:37 / 4:32
Mahoney 10 9:43 / 4:35
Homa 10 10:00 / 4:39
Boutwell 9 10:10 / 4:44
Warner 9 4:43
But it does appear that they will look young which bodes well for future years
Anyone know what happened to Regan MacPherson of St Anthony’s?
He scored at NXN but only ran 1 race since Indoor season.
He had multiple races indoor but outdoor he has been injured
Arlington will be a team to watch
Green - 9:18 - 11
Valencia - 9:55 - 11
Handman - 10:04 - 10
Nechaev - 10:05 - 10
Brutting - 4:35 / 16:14 5k - 11
J Pelusio - 16:34 5k - 11
Ithaca
Shaw - 10 - 9:42
Woods - 11 - 9:47
Nadasdy - 9 - 10:13
Hilker - 11 - 4:34
Hubisz - 10 - 16:47 3-mile
Scott - 11 - 16:53 3-mile
Ithaca doesn't have a real 5 to contend with NY's top teams. 16:47 3 mile is not that amazing unless its at a course such as sunken meadow or bowdoin and neither of them hold 3 mile courses

Lotta injuries there. Wouldn’t be shocked if he was hurt too
Regan Macpherson had a stress injury. The other guys had weird little things happen - rolled ankles, muscle strain etc...
Next year
Morelli 9:19, McLaughlin 4:19, Wigatow 9:29, Macpherson 9:37, Melloy 9:59 but ran a TT 9:39 in the fall, Ciaccio 1:56, Curley 10:17

Also current junior Kennedy who ran a 10:05 3200 and 4:38 mile both indoor

Also worth noting that this 16:47 guy ran a 4:30 1600 this spring so he probably improved.
But I agree that NXN is unlikely for them this coming fall
