If he has no or limited health insurance, probably $30,000-$70,000 depending on how long he's there
Jesus christ. what if you can't afford it?
There are several different options for health insurance. It really depends on what type of insurance he's got. Bankruptcy is common for uninsured/under insured folks that can't afford their medical bills.
How much will hospital treatment cost (not american)
Does Hoka provide health insurance for their runners or is it like with Nike where they're not real employees so they have buy their own?
Runners with very few exceptions are never employees. They are “sponsored” as separate businesses entities doing contract work or providing services on the companies behalf. That is why they have contracts and not employment agreements. Benefits including health insurance are the individual’s responsibility.
He's not there because he's sick - he paid to get a bunch of tests done. Everyone can calm down.
What you are looking at it a guy unable to accept that his declining ability is linked to his diet and that he is aging. Paying for tests that will show nothing. I think he's also a bit of a hypochondriac. Long before his pulmonary embolisms that guy would pay for needless blood tests. This is not new.
WILL SERIOUS RUNNER GO HOME DEVASTATED?!You've probably heard of the World Famous Message Boards on Let's Run. But have you been brave enough to check it out...
I am not a huge antivaxer or anything but it does seem plausible.
My dad got the pfizer jab and had a heart attack a couple of weeks later. He wasnt exactly in good health though to be fair so it may have been unrelated.
Still, its funny how if this had happened to him prior to the vaccine all you'd see is people blaming his veganism.
Sage clarified in the comments on that IG post that these were all planned procedures, all related to complications from his pulmonary embolism 2 years ago.
I hope they can figure out how to get Sage healthy again. He's definitely a positive force in the running world.
Really sucks for the guy to have to go through this... his love of running is very obvious and his health has taken a massive dump. Not going to speculate on what could've caused. Could've been simply bad luck or bad genetics. Or a highly-processed, highly-inflammatory high-alcohol diet coupled with decades of high mileage running. Or other things that have already been mentioned.
But man if I were him I would consider hanging it up. Just stick to 20-30 mins/day of easy running or hiking, get into weightlifting or something else, rather than keep pushing my body and risking it all. Maybe start focusing on a second career. Then again, I'm a retard so what do I know.
I believe now that Sage is a moderator. Every time I’ve posted about being vegan and endurance and health it gets deleted. Now several have posted about veganism effects and Sage and it remains up and coincidentally he’s unable to moderate/
