It looks narrower and less stable than the V2 and V1 in the heel and midfoot. Our fellow heel strikers won't be able to gain as much running economy compared to V1 and V2. Discus

then wear the V2...
What’s there to discuss? Nobody is going to be “forced” to wear it.
if you pay these folks 5 figures (average pro) and 6 figures (kipchogey) a year won't you make them run in new product to sell to white collar folks who want some hope to go sub 3:00???1
As far as I was aware one of the main focuses of the geometry change was to make it MORE stable while keeping the stack and weight the same. hence the cutouts to account for flare, etc.
No!!!!!!!!!!!! They will wear what they want. Nobody is going to force them to wear anything.
Looks like the Vaporfly 3 has the midsole stick out past the heel by an inch. Nike can't make the shoe any taller so...it makes the foot longer. Cheater shoe v2.
Nike
Any effect on footstrike is in your head.
The foot does not bounce off the ground. The heel is lifted up by the knee moving forward while the body weight remains on the still-planted forefoot.
This is not enhanced by any special spike plate. The body weight is borne by the arch of the foot, which is stiffened by the "windlass mechanism" of the metatarsals. The spike plate adds no more support than a rain gutter supports a house.
This is absolute nonsense.
They could just run in the alphafly
No matter how similar/different the Vaporfly 3 is from the V1 and V2, how many elites are bonfire heel strikers??? Can’t be many. Didn’t Nike also add extra cushion in the forefoot?
In Florida you have to register with the state if you're a heel striker.
cope all you want, but can you refute it?
Until then, I WIN bub. You win too if you wisely save your $$$. Don't be foolish
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
