McLaughlin And Mu (With one exception) can NOT Duck, The Person they are Supposedly Ducking would need to be a Threat, Someone who has a chance to beat them, Hodgkinson I guess could be a Threat To Mu at 800, but nobody is a threat to McLaughlin at 400 Hurdles, Bo is good but not really a threat to McLaughlin at least not now
Bol now has an interesting obstacle if Natalia Kaczmarek decides to race in European indoors. Kaczmarek went through 200 in 23.48 today. That was easily the most overlooked race and variable in Lievin.
Kaczmarek is very similar to Bol in that she's gone well under 50 outdoors but with a pedestrian personal best at 200 in the 23.3 range. Today's effort hints that Kaczmarek, like Bol, has sharply improved her sprint speed. That makes her a potential medal contender instead of second tier.
Last year Miller-Uibo went out in 23.45 at world indoors. Bol was a step behind and never could get close enough for a pass attempt. The situation with Kaczmarek would unfold differently. Bol would likely move outside to pass early during the second lap but be thwarted. She could get stuck in lane 2 for the entirety, just like the world indoor semifinal against Stephanie McPherson last year. The gap between Bol and Kaczmarek in not that substantial, as evidenced by the late season Diamond League race and also the European final last year.
Of course, Kaczmarek has a tendency not to step up in major events. And Bol might decide to grab the pole (Pole?) herself. Bol went out in 23.64 today.
........besides her stunning looks, heavenly voice, and cheery disposition.
Femke actually races!!! Hurdles, sprints, off-distances, indoors and out, she's all up in everything.
In contrast......
Scowly Syd -- DUCKS
Mu -- DUCKS and DNFs
BTC -- DUCKS AND EAT BURRITOS
Femke never backs down and never wimps out. Another reason she's /ourgirl/. 😍

They're not racing, they're ducking. They're afraid to lose.
Like another poster said- I'd rather see a 99% race often than 100% never race.

If Femke reads this she would be creeped out by you

I like Femke also. She’s a great athlete and competitor. Your obsession with her seems a bit creepy, though.
In the thread about the hypothetical races with Abby, Syd, Athing, & Femke, you stated Femke wins all races from 400 to 600 and as much as I like her, she won’t beat Syd in the 400h until she can learn to hurdle with both legs. The open 400 could be a bit closer but I honestly don’t believe anyone can be Syd over 400 meters right now - with or without hurdles.
Athing vs Femke is probably a better 400 race but I’ll give a slight edge to Femke.
In the rarely run indoor 500, the edge goes to Athing with Syd & Abby no longer a big factor. And at 600, Syd, Abby, & Femke should all be dropped and Keely brought in to challenge Athing.

I don't know about this. Bol pulled away from Kaz substantially and easily over the last 100 in both the 400 and on the anchor in Munchen. And it seems right now it's Bol who is even faster since then. Bol has now gone under 50i, and 22.87i. Kaz is a full second behind her and is even .7 behind Bol's second fastest time this year. And consider that the 400 is Kaz specialty, Bol rarely runs it except indoors.
Bol obviously knows business; she made $90,000 in that 400. She made $40,000 by winning and $50,000 for improving the WR. That is a nice weekend! Now that I think about it, this might be as lucrative as the possibility of taking 2nd at the olympics.

She's a star and gives back to the sport by competing regularly. McLaughlin/Mu are also stars but only take from the sport. The sport serves them, they don't give back by regularly competing. We need more of the former, and less of the latter. Stars need to compete regularly, particularly in a sport that's struggling. Imagine the NBA if say, Lebron James or Luka Doncic only appeared in the playoffs.

Last year you were totally wrong about Bol.
This year you predicted that Alexis Holmes had a shot at beating Bol. You were totally wrong about that too. ha ha ha ha.
Why don't you just be honest and admit you don't like Bol? But instead of doing that you keep coming up with stupid predictions about women who you claim can beat Bol, but actually have no shot.
I'm sorry, she's clearly a lovely young lady but her voice hurts my ears
It's like one of those ultrasonic cat deterrers that people over the age of 50 use cos they're too cloth eared to hear it themselves, but shred the eardrums of anyone younger passing their front garden
She significantly alters the migration pattern of bats

Maybe F Bol speaks with a lovely voice in several languages not English.
