I won't forget this post that you believe with a simple suggestion that she can beat Tuohy.

you act like she's 6'10"
She's not, and she isn't running at a pace that causes centrifugal issues.
Funny. Perhaps you should work on reading conprehension, You stated that Valby should work on running hills better. Cross country is about place. She doesn't score 1.5 points if she was closer to Tuohy. She scored 2 points. So unless you are stating that 2nd is better than 2nd, she has to finish 1st to do better. Valby would have easily beaten Tuohy with better tactics. It is nice to hear her Tuohy's father admit that Valby would have beaten her with a bit better training rather than relying on pure talent.
Kejelcha is the indoor world record holder in the mile. He is 6'1".
ok I can play this game.
I posted "I might suggest she actually train to run hills better this Fall. Before the race in Stillwater we heard how there are hills in FL and she had trained on them. Then after we hear that she hadn't trained on hills enough. It seemed clear to me she had not focused on how to run hills better. The UVA course has a whole lot of abrupt ups and downs while not as long as OSU there are many and it will require constant stride change on a less perfect running surface."
Nowhere do I say that by doing this can result in her beating Tuohy as "Coach of Champs" posted.
"I won't forget this post that you believe with a simple suggestion that she can beat Tuohy."
and to help you a little. Valby did not score 2 points. She scored zero as she was not on a team in the team competition.
What better tactics should Valby employed?
How tall is Valby?
I think I have read 5 ft 9 in
Good point. she didn't score, she finished 2nd. How is closer to Tuohy but still 2nd, better than 2nd? I really don't uderstand why you would recommend changing any aspect of training for the runner who finished 2nd. There are more than 200 places worse and only one better. So you recommend making a change that you say wouldn't result in 1st but may results in one of 200+ places that are worse. Sounds like great anonymous coaching. I see why Solinsky earns a living doing it.
when you are in a hole, stop digging!
Why not esplain rather throw out vague insults? Your post is illogical. You want her to change something in her training but you claim that she maximized her place at 2nd. So you suggest that she increase her risk for a worse place. I guess that is what a Tuohy fan would want.
ok so even you can understand, back a page some genius insisted Tuohy would not win another championship including the next XC championship. Given where the race is at in 2023 I suggested she focus more on hills as it is a very rolling course and it did appear she was not as ready for the hills as others last year. She did not run the hills as I had learned to, as Tuohy seemed to. She runs very upright and I dont think that is best for ascending hills. It also seemed to me she was not the same runner coming off the hill at 4.5 K, whereas Tuohy came off that hill and attacked. imho improving on the hills is a necessary ingredient in being able to win there, but hardly a guarantee of success.
Okay. So improving hill running does improve her chance of winning.
I'm closing it to new posts. Did the OP even put what event or provide a link? There are a few obsesses trolls that keep starting the same threads over and over. We get it. Valby and Tuohy are popular NCAA distance runners. If they are in the same race, only one can win.
