Ma's army were teenagers when they rampaged through the sport. PEDs will accelerate the timeline, which is the grain of salt you are sadly referring to. That aside, the typical female distance runner peaks later than sprinters, around 24. Meanwhile sprinters reach elite status by high school/early college age. The 800m is a great example of that, with high school runners going under 2:00.
Anyway, amusing to see people so defensive.
Why are posters comparing a sub-2 and sub-4 as if they are equivalent? The reason more teenagers run a sub-2 is because it's a much easier mark than a sub-4 1500. It has nothing to do with age development.
How many pro women have run sub-2 compared with sub-4? I'm not going to look it up but 4:00 is probably closer to a 1:57.
Rojo has had a bug up his ass about Tuohy forever. When she set the high school 3000m record he started a thread claiming Cain's converted 2 mile time was allegedly better. Then the very day she won NXN for the third time he started another thread downplaying her long term prospects. And of course the joke here is that comparing 800 runners to distance runners is silly. They develop at different time frames.
Funny to read the "VERY VERY worried" thread from 2019 again:
Now eliminate the doping times. I'm fairly confident every single East African and Eastern bloc time on that list is a doping time. And a few others that are obvious. Therein lies the big picture. What could the dopers run clean or what could KT run playing the game?
American distance runners have had more than just doping standing between them and the top of the medal table, namely, far higher expectations, role models, early higher mileage, exclusive altitude training, and harder workouts with bigger high quality groups. In recent years, we have had more of those things going for us and we have won a lot more medals than in the 1990s and 2000s. There's room for optimism right now but we have to set our sights higher than hs and NCAA titles.

Jeeze you’re as big of an excuse maker as Coevett.
