Wow. And 2 of the 3 are world class while one isn't close but we keep hearing it is due to age. Thanks for putting it into perspective for everyone. Some won't like those facts though.

Tuohy had her shot at greatness, but blew it by not dropping out at 1300m.
Athing Mu was The First American Born AFTER January 1st 2000 Cole Hocker is the only other American to this Day.), Keely Hodgkinson was the First European To get on the All Time Top 100 Performers list in a Standard Event 800, 1500, 3000, 5000, 10000 Steeple, Half Marathon and Marathon, also to get a top 1000 Performance Male or Female.
But it requires more speed than distance athletes tend to reach their peak earlier in the 800m than in the longer distances. Although all of these rules of thumb have now be taken with lots of salt as not only dozens of East Africans but also Jakob Ingebrigtsen ran extremely strong at longer distances as young as 18 (or certainly in their early 20s).

Clearly Mu and Hodgkinson are elite athletes on the world stage while Tuohy is not, but getting to comparing 800 to 1500 and longer the facts are 5 ladies have run sub 2:00 in college (and now we have 2 more who did in hs) while only 1 has gone sub 4:00 (and of course noone under 15:00) in college which suggests to me it is easier for a human to do the former than the latter in terms of development rate - at least for non E Africans.
