Obviously he's going to shill his employer's products, but I've actually heard this from a number of people who own both dragonflys and On's superspike. It's an unbelievable feat for a relatively small company to make something that's legitimately in the conversation for the best spike on the market.
Sad to see that shoes now are so relevant in the success, or lack there of in track. Will be questions of shoe advantages/legality going forward similar to steroid controversies.
Sieg Lindstrom has a nice Q&A with Ritz that you should read. Shoe experts what do you think of this excerpt about the On technology?
Ritz wrote:
“We hired someone from adidas at the time, Jordan Donnelly, who’s been in the business for 10-plus years. Jordan started putting together the team, really hustling, and within a year we put out [ON’s ‘super shoes’].
“I’m probably biased, but the results don’t lie either. I really believe that we have the best spike on the market right now, within half the amount of time that it would take a big company to do it.… We involved the OAC members in the development of the shoe at each stage.
“We don’t rush anything. That’s something I found about this company and the Swiss. They were very eager to have things happen, but at the same time, they will create the best product and put it out when it’s ready.”
