I think, and they seem to think it would not just have been 2 and the field would have strung out, and for Bush and Mareno to run the pace they wanted they would have had to be farther back for much of the race. They did not seem to want it to play out that way.
U don't think it's a little naive to say that 1 runners decision controlled the race and is the reason they won... and that every other possibility was doom and gloom?
It's at least possible that tuohy follows valby and the rest of the runners don't and run the exact same race except with (tuohy and valby) both getting a big lead
I think, Quarzo did say that Valbyz big lead demoralized her and if tuohy would have challenged early she would have done wayyyy better... Don't quote me though

At 11:00 of the the Nuttycombe race Kara Goucher (not Carrie as I said) says "Paul I really feel like Katelyn Tuohy is controlling this race whether she realizes it or not. I feel like everyone is keying off her, everyone is watching her and is waiting for her to do something....she is the person that is controlling this effort right now".
So, assume I am wrong, why did noone else chase Valby when she broke from the pack? It was still not that fast that some of the top runners could have tried - Valby was only 9:45-50 at 3K.
BTW I have reported one of my posts and requested that they take down every one of these XC comments as they are off topic.
