A friend just linked me to the Sweat Elite Podcast and described it as delusional.
Just listened to the first four minutes of Matt the piece of Crap's podcast calling out JRN as a "little company" and "boring".
Brett Larner has done a ton of running in the world to promote and support others while Matt has lied, cheated, doped and stolen his way into some scope of unfortunate relevance.
I regret giving this tool a moment of gratification of a listen but drama/delusion sells.
Just listened. Jesus this guy is unhinged. Before this episode I was always ambivalent about the guy but I genuinely hate him now. You missed the sly threat of violence towards Japan Running News too with the quote about punching people on the nose.
I've just had a listen, and I think the comments on here are a bit unfair. I've been to Japan, and although I'm hardly a little Englander who would tear up a bar in Spain, such is the ubiquity of English worldwide I was equally surprised by the lack of English speakers (thankfully i went with a native Japanese speaker!). Also, who on these boards could honestly say they haven't used/asked to use someone else's place in a race? My running club's members are like fly's around s*** when someone posts they can't do a race and would anyone be interested in taking their place (regardless of the warnings on the Big Half's page that you will be banned for life if you do so!). Yes, Matt rambles a bit about how it's difficult to run a media business, but content creating in the social media sense is still a (relatively) new area, and the rules of what content you can use are always a bit sketchy. After reading the article and listening to the podcast, I'm tending to believe Matt that he's been Judas'd by a colleague who feels a bit aggrieved that sweatelite are working on his turf. In my experience, top/sub-elite runners are a bit of an odd bunch who aren't socially always all there, and I think Matt's problem is he's not the best communicator, so he makes himself sound sillier than he is (comments about nose punching are obviously not serious, but he doesn't do a good job on landing the joke). Ramble over, I hope everyone on here had a good festive break!

Evidently, English is also not commonly spoken in England.
