I used to have really fun runs in the older EVA foam shoes, like before 2013. Since that time many of the manufacturers started producing "new "novel foams" that promised all kinds of benefits. I have tried numerous such shoe and the result is always the same: a run that is not nearly as fun as it used to be! The new shoes feel cheap and thrown together with little thought. Some feel unstable, some have weird "rockers", others are sluggish. Some are unrunnable to me! That never happened before. Currently the trend is high stack heights which makes the shoes feel unstable and I believe these ridiculous heights are unnecessary to performance. Does anyone else feel the same way? Are there some shoes I should try? The Asics Novablas 3t looks interesting but I have been disappointed before.
