Dartmouth's top freshman male is in the transfer portal. In the comments section of his file it says he is specifically transferring because of the coaching change.
McNulty is already dropping the ball.
The kid in the transfer portal wasn’t really dartmouths top freshman in any literal sense. He also apparently didn’t even try mcnultys training at all and quit the team because he was scared it was going to be too rigorous and has some tiger-parent dad who told him to quit
You sound like Mcnulty posting. How else would you know about the tiger-parent father??? Why would he think a D3 coaches training was going to be too rigorous? You are full of crap, clearly you are McNulty or his mom posting to defend his reputation.
He was Dartmouth's top freshman in XC, so yes in a literal sense he was their top freshmen.
Rumblings around Hanover are that True was never even offered the position. After coaching the team for free during XC and being a finalist they hired McNulty over him.
many injuries, performances going backwards -- it's a shame Porscha let her ego get the best of her because the distance kids were doing really well under Coach Wood

Dartmouth men's distance is a train wreck right now. Literally their top 6 runners from last year have not raced outdoors yet (Daley, Chaffin, Moore, O'Scainnlain, Gibson, Winslow).
If you compare to cross country, their #1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 from 2022 Heps are currently not racing. That's 10 of 12.

How is that even possible?
I posted on this thread initially defending McNulty, I genuinely thought he'd do a good job. Looking at the results, I was dead wrong.
Everyone must be injured because you can't redshirt in the Ivy League. They've gone to great meets like Raleigh Relays, Duke, Larry Ellis, and Florida twice so you can't argue they are just waiting for big meets.
This is the biggest self-destruction I've ever seen.
scared it was going to be too rigorous or knew that the training was going to literally break their legs? psychic parent might be more accurate than tiger.
Every program that is not ivy or military can get transfer kids or late admits in extremely easily. This problem with lack of numbers is coming from the coaching change plus lack of recruiting from the previous distance coach and/or current head track coach. With dartmouth early admissions happening in the fall of senior year they are really operating with a big delay in recruiting. It is the program directors job to ensure continuity across the position.
That being said, time will tell. If this trend continues for another year or two then you absolutely can point to a mediocre coaching job.
Am friends with one of them. A majority of people you mentioned are hurt. One has a stress fracture and has been biking/aquajogging for almost a month now, and the others are also recovering. However, one won't be racing this season.
Also, from what I've heard people haven't been satisfied with the new coach - due to injuries and general underperformance. They performed ok at Heps but could have done better.

McNulty started mid year and then subsequently injured them all. It's not an issue of recruiting or anything else yet. He started with a pretty talented group and then ruined all of them.
look at the post by train wreck. 10 of the 12 runners for Dartmouth this fall aren't racing outdoors. They are all still at Dartmouth - but injured or they quit.
Even their 800m runner who is the fastest in the league so far is far off his personal bests. He's a 20 year old freshman from Jamaica who ran 1:47.34 before arriving at Dartmouth and has only run 1:48.42 this year.
and they forced Coach Wood to step down why? Look at the results when he was there, everyone was improving! This one is on Porscha -- what a trainwreck
Didn’t plan on looking up Dartmouth Indoor Track results tonight, but just wanted to check my daily letsrun-poster math and analysis skills.
Seems it may not be the dumpster fire I was led to believe by reading the posts. How did they get 5th and 4th with the whole distance squads injured? Must have had a great indoor discus athlete…

the men only scored 3 more points in 2023 than 2022, other teams just got worse. brown and yale are really, horribly bad. McNulty started in december so it's hard to mess it up in 2 months...3-4 months after he started now and they a train wreck.
why don't you look at the outdoor results so far? all of their men's distance runners are injured.
Looking at their Stravas is like watching a %^#*ing horror movie. casualty after casualty.
