The only people I can think of who would be “Lance Armstrong” level busts are Usain Bolt and Eliud Kipchoge. Someone mentioned Jakob but pretty sure he is running Euro XC so not likely to be him.
If these rumors are true my money is on Kipchoge. Anyone who thinks 2:01:low going out in 59 minutes is a clean performance is seriously delusional. Plus, with the slew of positives from Kenya this year it’s pretty clear there is a cultural problem.
What some may not realize is that probably half the posters here feel like a kid the night before Christmas, excited as hell about a potential bust. Armstronglivs and Coevett probably haven’t been this excited since their wedding night. Are they still together?
The 'Titan' meaning is different to U.S. fans compared to European fans. For example, Mondo, Vetter and Keeley are titans in Europe but not so much in the U.S.

Vetter is a titan in Europe? She's barely done anything. She's not even in the same ballpark as Mondo.
Getting worked up over an anonymous tip with zero details is funny, pre-emptively rending your garments in despair over the thought of it being Kipchoge is funnier.
The man just split a 59:51/2:01:09 two months before turning 38, for crying out loud. I think he's up there with Lebron and Messi as one of the greatest athletes currently active, and just like the other two I wouldn't be surprised at all if news broke that he was doping.

I’m going with Galen. From a US distance running standpoint, he is the Lance Armstrong of US distance running. He’s on the back end of his career chasing a couple more good races. It’s very common to start doping to keep up. Plus, his former coach wasn’t playing by the rules.
That's a bit male centric. If we get a SAFP or Elaine Thompson-Herah, it's also big but I'll agree it won't move the media needle like those three.
I just thought to myself, "If Kipchoge was popped, do we shut the site down?"
If Kipchoge is popped, there will be suicides.
None of the women are at Lance-level fame atm. Marion Jones used to be.
Lol, nothing will change. The same nuts here will still scream racist at anybody suggesting that there is rampant doping in Kenya. The same nuts will still claim that East Africans are genetic natural born runners and that anybody who denies it is a racist. The same nuts will still claim that EVERYBODY dopes, and it's just that Kenyans like multi-millionaire Kipchoge can't afford a good team for sophisticated doping.
Of course in the wider public it will signal the death of credibility for the sport and a real crisis.
Only Kipchoge comes close to being a 'titan' or a Lance Armstrong type figure. All the signs have been pointing towards him getting busted, and was likely the reason why Kenya came close to being banned.
Here, we might see Kipchoge that way, but the rest of the world wouldn’t recognize the name.
Unless it’s a retroactive Bolt bust.
80% of Lance Armstrong's global fame, or rather infamy, is because of his bust, confession on Oprah etc. etc. He was no bigger star than Kipchoge before that.
Kipchoge is worth too much money to too many people to fall, I genuinely believe that.
There's been plenty of Ethiopians and Kenyans who've run super-fast marathons this year though.
They might have given Kenya Athletics a choice - accept a ban and we keep quiet about Kipchoge's bust, or accept the fallout from Kipchoge being busted and work hard to finally get your house in order.
