no I think it was a coincidence.......when I viewed the video to see if my suspicion was right there is an ad break there and coverage resumes just after 2 K I think

Your math is off. Valby only beat her by .7% over 6k.
If Valby is in 14:40 5k shape then Chelangat is about 14:44-46 over 5k
This conversation is so tired!
1) Cross country times dont convert to anything.
2) refer to 1)
I actually believe a large part of the issue for this course is the turns after the 2k. The course maps show two 90degree turns, but the runners are curving well before the first turn on the map. The map then shows a straight path north after the first turn...but when you watch the runners they are curving away to the East almost as soon as they enter the trees. Where the map shows the runners come out of the trees to do the second 90degree turn, the runners actually come out 20 - 30 meters (guessing) to the East. If you watch around 7:50 of the race, it shows Valby and Mercy coming out of those trees...they have already crossed the pathway (which they should not have according to the map) and they are skirting the edge of the fairway as they cross to the other side. They should not have been near the edge of the fairway as they came out of the trees. You can see this more clearly on the second loop they do around 16minutes. This series of turns could easily cut off 50 to 75 meters on each loop. When I did my Google Maps, I used the course map provided, and was already short.
No. Your math is off. You can't predict a time from a winner. Imagine if Ingebrightsen wins a 1500 in 3:45 and 2nd is 3:46. That doesn't mean that his mile PR is only 1 second faster. He may be capable of beating the guy by 15 seconds.
Valby will be running 14:30 in two years while Tuohy will be stuck at 14:55. Valby will be a pro while Tuohy will be in the NCAA so you will have forgotten about Valby.
Houlihan never missed a test and she passed every test before and after running that time. Get your facts straight.
I see you decided to jump on another Bandwagon...you must be getting tired?
Well except for one. So close.....

The next US Distance Star to be caught doping? Yes if someone exposes Florida's Sports Program but no one is brave enough to speak out.

Valby beat Chelangat by 7 seconds in the last 2 kilometers. Tuohy beat Chelangat by 12 seconds in the last kilometer.
So Tuohy is in 14:30s shape?

About 15:10-15:15. Not to rain on a silly parade, but the same ratings have Chelangat around 15:00 despite a lifetime PR of 15:18 in a fast pro race.
But, but, but... John Kellogg said...

Until then, thank goodness we have brave, anonymous posters like you to throw young women under the bus with zero evidence!
