UVA simply went out too hard on their home course. They were bunched up right past the mile and was a fade.
LMFAO!!! Do you have any Wall Street predictions? How about the housing market? Do you know anything about Bitcoin?
I agree
However:
Sado had a 22s PB
Johnson had a 15s PB
Porter had a 12s PB
Wachtel had a 1s PB
So they did not do terrible. I would even say that Sado did very well.
The problem is that Asfaw, Anthony and Martin did not run well. Two of the three needed to run well.
Anthony and Martin were 2nd and 7th respectively at 2k. They were still 11th and 12th at 3k. But the writing was on the wall, as they dropped to 32nd (Martin) and 45th (Anthony) by 4K.
Had they run well (say they both would have run with Sado or Porter), they would have been right up there in the mix with Syracuse, ND and North Carolina.
They were short lived in 1st and Wake Forest was 5th at 2k.
UVA was 3rd and WF was 9th for the women though. So UVA was better overall.
Their women did better than their highly touted men's team. Good for them.
UVA did disappoint. It turns out that having a bunch of guys running in the teens together in some lower profile meet did not augur well for conference where they lacked the ability to stick with the big dogs. Still, they have a very young team and should do well in the coming years. Fine performance from Wake Forest. He has really turned that program around.
I would say that 44pts when going against 6 nationally ranked teams is more than “fine”
They may be stronger than Oklahoma State
If you go 9 deep, Syracuse (50th) and UVA (58th) were by far the deepest sqads.
If you go 9 deep, Syracuse (50th) and UVA (58th) were by far the deepest sqads.
If either (or both) of these teams make it to Nationals, it will be hard to pick the top 7.
Martin has run 23:36 this year and was 9th today for UVA
Eliason was 1st UVA in season opener and 3rd UVA in Beantown, but was 8th UVA today. His best is only 23:55 however, which ranks him 9th UVA.
