On form, 4 Kenyan and 4 Ethiopian. Current winners of all 6 majors, as well as current Olympic and World Champs. Between these 8, they have 7 of the eight sub 2.18 times this year so far. I will list the names in a few hours

Don’t bother.
1. Ruth Chepngetich, winner Chicago in WL 2.14.18, halfway in 65.44. No male pacers
2.Brigid Kosgei, winner Tokyo in 2.16.02. Still the WR holder for another 6 weeks, at least
3. Peres Jepchirchir: Current NY and Olympic Champ. Won Boston in April in 2.21.01
4. YY Won Hamburg on debut in 2.17.23. Was only 3 sec slower winning London vs an all-star list, even after tripping on a speed bump and falling.
5. Gotytom G. Third Tokyo 2.18.18 then 7 sec quicker as winner at Worlds
1. Ruth chepng'etich
2. Peres Jepchichir
3. Brigid kosgei
4. Joyceline Jepkosgei
5. Yehualaw Yamherlzerf
6. Tigist Assefa
7. Gotytyom Gebreselasie
8. Almaz Ayana
You might have to amend the list if the AIU keeps announcing more names every few days.
Aliphine Tuliamuk
Betsy Saina
Sally Kipyego
Lisa Ondieki
6 for me also is Tigist Assefa, Surprising winner of Chicago in 2.15.37. Her splits for each half were 68.13 and 67.24. The 5k between 30 and 35k was where it was broken open, 15.46 being her time to get an unassailable lead
7th is Judith Jeptum Korir. Won Paris in April in 2.19.48, second at Worlds in 2.18.20, and fourth in the 'real' world champs in London three weeks ago in 2.18.43
Eighth and last in this group is Ashete Bekere, second in Tokyo in 2.17.58 then 6th in London in 2.19.30
What time would Obiri have to run in NYC to slot into the top eight?
Sub 2.16. Not possible in NY, better to ask about Gidey in Valencia. I don’t generally consider for my top eight or ten, an athlete on just one performance.
Hellen is a chance to win NY vs Gotytom and Teferi.
Three of these 8 finished in front of Sutume Asefa Kebede in London. Kebede is my choice for second in Valencia next month but will have to be sub 2.17 to get near these 8, IMO.
Peres third in New York is enough to keep her in this group and exclude the two who finished before her there
Not Sutume but Amane Beriso. Into my 8 but who drops out?
I think you take out Jepkosgei and Ayana and place the top 2 from Valencia
They are in another poster’s top 8, not mine.
