I know this sounds like an insensitive question, because I'm sure many people and their loved ones have suffered during the covid pandemic. However, in terms of running, it was like the best set of circumstances I could have asked for. I know for some they fell into a rut during this time. For me, however: little to no obligation, getting proper sleep every day, low stress etc. allowed me to spend a lot of time on running/recovery/fitness. I was regularly clocking in at least 70 mpw, sometimes up to 100, and still had plenty of energy.
Now that I'm back in university full-time with family/work obligations, my mileage has significantly dropped to around 50 mpw. I feel more tired/achy and my times have slowed down. More stress, less sleep, and other factors are all things that I am aware have contributed to this. Does anyone else feel this way and struggle to cope with the "prosperous" running times during quarantine?
