I run with a Forerunner 245. I'm pleased with the watch overall but it struggles with accurate real-time pace readings, especially in tree cover. Maybe this is all GPS watches in cover, but it's not unusual for current pace to show 2 minutes per mile slower from where the mile split ends up. As a novice runner I'm not very good at judging pace which makes it difficult to manage a run effectively. Anyone have luck tweaking settings to improve pace accuracy? Or can recommend an alternate watch for this purpose? I'm about to run my first marathon on a course with lots of tree cover, so I need to get my pacing right!
Thanks
