It is astonishing to me how posters throw numbers expectations out there that are incredibly fast. I wonder if they have ever even done a quarter at the pace it would take to run in the 12:40’s.
Good move for Teare signing with Nike and going to BTC. Get healthy and get ready to train.
More like you got engaged to someone a month ago but haven't said anything yet and then being upset that someone is telling people you are engaged. And your GF is a smokeshow, but she also has a drug addiction.
This is a professional sport, not a relationship between a man and a woman. News is reported when it comes in. A strange sense of entitlement to expect journalists to keep your secrets. But this is our sport.

Agreed. What's funny is he said his agent reached out to let him know LetsRun asked if they had any input or comments *before* the article came out. It's like he has no concept of journalism. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
Do you think all of BTC is doping and everyone who joins knows before they join? If so, how has that never been leaked by someone like Grant Fisher, someone with an engineering degree from Stanford? Why would he risk his entire reputation to run around a track fast when he has an engineering degree from Stanford? If not, then how does Teare have no integrity?
However, regarding "Why would he risk his entire reputation to run around a track fast when he has an engineering degree from Stanford?" That literally cracks me up. Thanks to BTC, Fisher makes a lot more money now, and has more fame, and free time etc., than he would have if working as an engineer. And recall that most dopers never get caught, so the risk is slim. And if they do get caught, the sport (e.g., Nike and USATF) continues to support them later, see Gatlin + Gay + Mitchell + Ross etc.
I would add that, as always, people here underestimate how much the general public does not care at all about track or doping. If Grant is in a Shelby situation a few years from now, he can probably get through some job interviews without it even coming up and, if it does, he can probably explain it away with an answer that a lot of people will buy. Seems like about half the mainstream articles about Shelby in major publications buy her story and are on her side. If she had gone to a real school instead of Arizona State, she could probably get a job outside of track without much difficulty. It’s not exactly Rojo and AromstrongLives conducting interviews for companies hiring engineers.

Exactly. I'm a grown man and I'm trying not to say it, but, Teare sounds like a douche lamenting that anyone cares about his big announcement.
Wasn't there another recent athlete that got all kerfuffled over a leak of their contract...maybe the Kentucky sprinter?
Anyway, someone familiar with PR needs to help these lost souls.

BTC is the best American group, so it was a no brainer, unless he thinks he is a miler, in which case BTC hasn't had the greatest success for men. Teare was a lot faster than Fisher in college, so he had to be thinking about low 12:40s with BTC.
Easier said then done.

I expect that Cooper Teare wants to be better than Grant Fisher. Otherwise, he wouldn't join BTC. But Grant Fisher has run 12:46.96. Hence, Cooper Teare wants to run in the low (to mid) 12:40s. And to be clear, I'm not saying that Teare will run in the 12:40s. With health, he will break 13 next year and he has every ability to run as fast as Fisher in this group, but I'm not predicting that here. No one can know that. I am just saying that has got to be Teare's time goal. As for whether I've run a quarter at that pace, yes, I have run faster than WR 5000m, and indeed, 3000m pace for a quarter, as have almost all of the commentatorati. So, I can appreciate how hard 12:40s must be.
Also he says he “hates” Mason Ferlic and Fauble. Faubs I get since he was criticizing Cole at USAs, but does anyone know the source of the Ferlic beef? He seems like a great guy

No he doesn't. He doesn't seem like that at all
Not sure I can listen to this whole thing, but curious - at what point does he say that? I got to the point where he addresses his 'beef' with Centro, which is fairly entertaining.
