You make very good points but this is a tough one to solve because with regards to being stripped of all records and medals it is difficult or even impossible to establish when she started doping and finished doping, and when she won medals in European championships, which was the case - was she doping at that time or after? We will never get the full story of this affair and judicial experts and judges have to make decisions which sometimes might not be fair for the perpetrator of the infraction.
Laila Traby, who now goes by another name I believe, has now divorced herself completely from athletics and pursues a career in aesthetics and hair dressing, according to reports.
She will not spend any time in prison because even in the worst case if she gets a one year prison sentence, it is what they call « avec sursis » which means she does not actually have to spend any time behind bars, but it is just a record on her criminal record sheet or what we call in France « casier judiciaire. »
However, once she has a criminal record, in France, she would be barred from many areas of employment such as education and other professions dealing with people. Aesthetics and hairdressing do not fall into those categories so she’s not concerned. At the end of the day, she just wants to make money for herself and her family. She was a talented runner from what we can deduce and it’s a pity that she took that decision to cross the line.
