He joined GSTC in 2018 and broke 4 a buncha times. He ran 3:58 under Chuck Schneekloth to win the Monmouth Mile in 2019. So to improve 3 seconds over 3 years sounds about right.

He dropped closer to 4 seconds -- from 3:58.88 to 3:54.93 -- but your point still stands.
He broke 4 one time in 2019 and hated running for GSTC.
Holt's story is honestly one of the best in the sport. It reminds me of Buzz Williams in College Basketball. Some people just have a maniacal work ethic and determination, even if it looks to the outside world that they don't have the background or ability to get to the top level. Holt doesn't "look the part" or run with the typical action you may see from a top 1500/miler, but clearly he can handle professional training, make all the sacrifices and has the drive/heart to succeed. It'd be awesome if he can win at NACAC.
Well he won NACAC today, I'm sure he was drug tested
Good run by holt!
Always room for more Eric:
How cool is it he is coached by Trautman? Straight up NYC badassery.
He has been crushing it!!!
Almost all elite 1500m runners make all the necessary sacrifices and have the drive to succeed. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be elite.
I didn't think I could be more of a fan but wow! That interview really hit home and to see the success he's having now just makes it that much sweeter.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
