If Rojo returns to the thread, I'd be very interested in knowing the source from which he got this factoid, presuming it was disseminated recently.
The subliminal subtext seems to be "global warming - not that bad" coming out a couple of weeks after the memory of a pretty remarkable heat wave in the UK has faded, and I suspect this is intentional messaging originating from some invested party.
As long as the subtext to this thread isn't, "Oh, that's not too hot. Climate change isn't that bad." (which seems to be the case in right wing circles the past week over news like this), then this is a fun thread.
To be honest, since 1831 isn't that long to make a claim about this as being unusual. What about all those years before then? What were the temperatures like when Irish monks were travelling northwards to spread the gospel and set up monasteries, when the seas were calmer, and the temperatures warm enough to grow oats and barley and raise cattle without modern farming methods in parts of the world where this is no longer possible because its too cold nowadays?

Nice clown nose and boot licking tongue you have there.
WOW. As I nearly fell off my chair. Man that is hot. That is Africa hot. I don't usually watch the weather channel as my TVs are set to the cartoon channel and as I really don't have the energy to ever try to find the remote as it is usually time for my hourly nap but wow that is hot but not as hot as in Texas where I lived for a little while before I decided that I wanted to live in a good state as Baltimore is better than Texas but even in Baltimore I think that it gets hotter than in Ireland as they don't usually get very hot in Ireland but as it is hot there now.

I'm in England. I loved it. But it was way overhyped as an emergency. We had dew points way below what you guys have.
I'd like to see you come up with a guess and a reason for that temp. I'll reveal it at 8 pm (ET).
I read the headline and went to google to check it out. Then I saw what Rojo wrote above. I shall therefore excuse myself from commenting on the all time high for Ireland.
The record high temperature in Honolulu is only 95F. Even on the big island, the record high is only 100F. Islands, even in the tropics, don't get that hot due to the modifying effects of the ocean.
One thing that helps me sleep at night is the fact I have Irish citizenship available to me. When this country is run into the craphole by hillbillys and authoritarian "Christian patriots" or when climate change comes even faster that it already is...yeah, I have an out. Good luck.
Ireland is a shi thole. Westminster should cut northern Ireland loose and let Biden the dumb mf sort it out.
The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation awarded grants to a pass-through group which then contributed to a law firm's effort to sue oil companies over alleged climate deception, emails showed.
A Fox News review of flight data and an industry emissions calculator found that the jet emitted an estimated 138 metric tons of carbon on trips dating from Jan. 10 to Aug. 6.
