106 degrees is my guess.
Don't know, but too many will claim higher taxes can make the temperature go down.
95F. I was in Groningen on the hottest day ever recorded and that was just under 100F. I'll guess Ireland is a bit under that.
It's probably a bit cooler in Ireland than the average northern US summer temperature. I was there on a beer drinking binge a couple summers ago and was surprised at the coolness. Perhaps that was just the timing though.
116 F
This is fun. Umm, I'll guess that the record was 102. Just a blind guess. I know they got a lot of rain in Ireland recently (I have an Irish FB friend and she posted pictures of flooding rivers), so maybe that has something to do with it?
P.S. I think I saw you have covid. All the best, brother. Speedy recovery. Paxlovid seemed to help me.
Ireland has provisionally recorded its hottest day for 135 years with a reading of 33.1 (91.58F) degrees reported at the Phoenix Park, where observations first began in 1831.
If confirmed, this is the second highest temperature recorded in Ireland, surpassed only by the 33.3 (91.98F) degrees recorded at Kilkenny Castle on June 26th, 1887.
That blows my mind. It's never been 92 degrees in Ireland? Wow.

I ALMOST hit the lottery today, too!
One thing that helps me sleep at night is the fact I have Irish citizenship available to me. When this country is run into the craphole by hillbillys and authoritarian "Christian patriots" or when climate change comes even faster that it already is...yeah, I have an out. Good luck.
Well of course we cannot be certain whether it has ever been 92 degrees in Ireland…we just don’t know for sure, for many reasons.
Hey rojo did you know that there are no snakes in Ireland? Try to wrap your mind around that one!
91
You need to get out more rojo and study some geography.
Ireland is an island in the more northern Atlantic ocean. Temperatures are usually more stable on islands because of the surrounding waters.
Ireland's latitude is 53 degrees north.
Seattle is 47.6N,
Juneau, AK is 58,2N
It wasn't today, it was weeks ago. I was running in Phoenix park that morning. The temp went to 33C or something in the afternoon, it was dreadful.
This is so true. Temperatures in general and thermometers specifically are easy to manipulate - temps via the secret government bases in Alaska and thermometers by hackers who want us to believe in climate change. Don't believe it just because it's published in the Irish Times or whatever.
And besides it's almost certainly been hotter long ago, back when Ireland was part of Pangea. It's actually cooler now, despite all the global warming hysteria.
Those are two different locations.
A castle would store heat much better than a park would.
Look how freaking far north it is. Its at the latitude of newfoundland. St John's in Canada, which is farther south than all of ireland, has a record of 93F.
To be fair, I used to scoff at Brits who'd have a meltdown if the temperature reached 25 degrees Celsius (77 F).
I live in a part of Australia where it regularly reaches 40 degrees Celsius (104 F).
However, after living in the UK for 6 months, the same temperature, in terms of the number given by meteorologists, did feel much hotter in the UK than in Australia. For example, there was a 15 degree day (59 F) in winter, in which people were so quick to whip out their singlets, thongs and board shorts. I would've laughed if I wasn't also tempted to do the same (maybe not the thongs).
So now we have temperature manipulation conspiracies lol
I do agree there was likely a day in the past Ireland was hotter though.
