They can aim all they want. Kilbourne has owned the OCC Capital since the realignment (back to back in '21 and '22), and they 3-peat next year. Quite easily, I might add.
Sorry bud, no ones got their eyes on Scioto. Instead watch out for big walnut. Big nut is on a mission this year. They're runners have some nuts on em and they run with pure grit to prove it. Scioto and Kilbourne are gonna get slapped in the face by big nut at occ's this year. Be ready.
1) Mason (A lot of people think Massillon Jackson, but they just can't get it done)
2) Massillon Jackson
3) St. Xavier
4) Worthington Kilbourne
5) Chardon
Seems like a down year on the team side for the boys.
If Mas Jackson really wants to win, they will need to make sure that they are at least 6 or 7-deep. 5-deep is fine but risky and puts a lot of pressure on everyone. When a team is 5-deep, if one scorer has an off-day, their whole team has an off day too
Time for a switch... Eli Ilg (Massillon J) and Nathan Massie (Beavercreek) had good runs at SPIRE recently... 9:27 and 9:33. Pretty solid for December, particularly for Ilg who's only a soph.
Looking at the 2022 State Championship results again.
A very early prediction for 2023:
1) Mason, will be tough to 3-peat, but they have the tools to get it done.
2) St. X, will Trapp be a contender for the individual title? Possibly.
3) Massillon Jackson, Zuckett and Ilg should be studs for them again in 2023. Also, who was their guy that didn't finish the state final?
Kilbourne for 4th? Nah. Will they even get to the 2023 State Final as a team?
I am skeptical of picking Chardon fifth but I see what is going on there--should be returning their top six runners from that 19th place finish. It will be interesting to see how far they can move up in 2023.

Kilbourne returns...
9:07/15:13
4:28/15:32
4:24/16:00
16:40
17:00
They're as good as anyone upfront. Depth will be the issue.
Who do you all think the top schools will be looking like for next yearProductions I've been hearing about; 1:Mason 2: St. X 3: Massillon JacksonAnyone got anything for a top 10?
Is there any way to rename that thread? If the thread is going to be about Ohio XC, "Top Ohio xc schools" is not a good thread title. How about something like "Ohio XC 2023."

No, I don’t think you can edit a subject title
If we create a new Ohio XC 2023 thread, someone will say “we already have 2 Ohio HS XC threads created”.
But since you would rather have a thread name like Ohio HS XC, we can just use this thread even though it was created a year ago
And next year, someone will need to create a thread titled “Ohio HS XC 2024”
Is it just the behemoth Mason & their 250 runners and then everyone else on the boy's side? What individuals will be fighting for top 10 spots? Any new up and comers to pay attention to?
Funny how one year later, the question is the same
