Why? Nice guy, but he doesn't seem to be in the same category as other junior studs in Central OH - Rudraraju, Gabelman, Miller, Ricchuitti, Smith, etc. What was he, like 120 at state XC?

Look at my user name. He's the Most Improved. He just finished a second behind Miller in the first race of the season. Again, don't sleep on Weston Day.

Yeah and there are tons of returners who ran a faster 3200 than him
OATCCC preseason poll just released, anything surprising?
Pretty good rankings overall.
I feel like Dub Coffman is ranked too low here though. They finished second last year, return 3 scorers, another 9:55 guy. Needs a 5th but there are good candidates: a 16:50/10:39 3200 guy A 4:47/1:58 incoming junior I think being ranked 2nd would be the best case scenario for them. To those who cannot find the rankings….
The OHSAA early season meet was this morning. The top runners ran some pretty fast times. Normally the times at this meet are not that fast as eveyone seems to be shaking off the rust. It is usually more of a tune up meet.
Here are the top 5 girl individuals:
1 Katie Clute Olmsted Falls 17:51.9 2 Sarah Peer Westlake 17:59.4 3 Evelyn Prodoehl Lak. West 18:21.9 4 Mia Robillard Centerville 18:48.1 5 Efa Paschka Mason 18:53.5
Last year Clute ran 18:30, Robillard was 18:40, and Peer was 18:58. It seems that Clute & peer are at another level right now but the Lakota West girl is only a sophomore and has a ton of potential. I also think that Robillard plays soccer a lot of the year and peaks later. I'm surprised that Mason won, that Perrysburg was as far back a they were, and that Loveland was in the top 5 since they lost most of their team from last year to graduation. It's still early so anything can happen.

So…Hil Davidson boys team is ranked 4th but just lost to a 9th and 10th ranked team.
Were they missing anyone? To me it seems like it’s a no.
Maybe Hilliard Davidson just peaks late in the season?
And was Solon underrated in the polls? They are ranked in the 50s based on returning 5K and 3200 times. They didn’t even make state and lost their 1,5,6,7 from regions.
But 12th based on 1600 returning times.
they also did seem to find 2 more guys to add to their top 3 returners

No. Davidson isn't the same. They are they are. If anything, they tend to be very race-ready early.
Hil Davidson’s top 2 were fine but: A 9:45 3200 guy run a 17:45. (Ran a 16:01 last year). A 10:05 guy ran a 17:54. (Ran a 16:49 last year). A 10:06 guy ran a 17:33. A 10:17 guy ran a 17:54. A 10:16 guy ran a 17:37. I know for sure that 9:45 guys are capable of running much faster than a 17:45.
10:05 guys can run better than a 17:54.
Also, all of their top 7 went under 17:20 last year.

So it was hot and humid today. So what? You could also invert these. Maybe anyone who managed 17:30-17:50 today is in the 9:45-10:10 range on the track. I'm not sure what point you're making. All teams ran the same course.
Lancaster looks much better on paper, Coffman will likely pack 3 guys in between Ackley and Boyd, and both Orange and Kilbourne can do the same. I'm not saying Davidson is bad... I'm just saying they're not the clear, dominant #1 in region 3 anymore.

Last year Davidson had two studs that would score in the top 5, this year they have one. It's hard to see this year's team being better than last year's. Lancaster should beat them.
