Speed ratings have been a thing for a while now but I really don't much about them. How do they work, exactly? Is course difficulty taken into account similar to what milepsplit tried to do with course ratings?
In one instance I noticed that Lakota West sophomoreEvelyn Prodoehl is in the speed ratings with a 18:21.9 that she ran at the Obetz early season OHSAA meet. She ran a 17:57 a week later at VOA park in West Chester. While neither course could ever be called "difficult," Obetz is not appreciably more difficult than VOA so I don't understand her have a spped rating there with no mention of the VOA time.
I'm sure that there are other instances of this but I haven't really taken the time to scour the data.
Oh...was that when the crazy guy released wild animals, like monkeys, tigers, bears, etc, around the course? I think I remember hearing something about that.
St X did not have everyone run. You’ll see the whole team at Trinity.
St. X didn’t run their whole team at Trinity. Would have been interesting to see how they would have matched up with Mason if they did, it looks like they might have a solid #3 and Mason doesn’t look as strong at the 4-5 spots as I expected. One of their returners from last year didn’t even score. I might need to change my ID from “race for second” to “maybe there’s a chance.”
Mason has their #5 in before Louisville St X had their #2 in. At least I think that is Louisville St X & not Cincy St X. They really should specify that in the results.
Hopefully mason’s Neuberger comes back. They could challenge for an NXN berth if he comes back. Although Center Grove is starting to figure things out. but today CG barely beat a team from Indiana that’s not Carmel
