Or maybe he tried to pass inside and got tripped up?

Here's a video of the race. Watch starting at 14:50. It zooms in & out, but you can still see it normally (2X actually).
Cannot see if contact. But imo, the only way Fisher would've tripped up, is by getting clipped by Mo. Didn't look like he ran unforced into the rail- which is very hard to believe anyway.
Krop from Kenya cut in on Grant and robbed a medal away from Fisher.
He tripped/stepped on the rail because he was running past his limits. He wasn’t going to medal
Krop went from the outer portion of lane 1 with 150m to go, to the inner portion with 110m to go, forcing Grant down a bit because GF wasn’t able to get up to his shoulder in time. Grant’s own fault. He knows it.
He had 3rd locked if he just would’ve swing wide.
You’re clueless! The Kenyan clearly cut in on him without a step and a half lead forcing him into the rail - should be DQ, but that doesn’t help Grant
Fisher disrupted Mo's natural wind-up to the finishing kick and Mo would have taken bronze were it not for this robbery.
It wasn't a sharp cut by Jacob Krop who was well ahead, so no DQ. And Fisher would've lost anyway as he was going backwards.

Mo was staring at GF’s feet the whole curve. Knew he only had one way to get past a GF who was surging and only getting stronger.
Who is Grant Fisher?
I’m a huge Grant fan, but he is way too focused on clinging to the rail. In both races, he was glued right to it the entire time. In the 5, he was in a great position to move out a bit coming around the final turn but instead he tried to go inside Krop 🤷♂️. Passing on the inside is not a high percentage strategy. He’s certainly good enough to get a medal, but he cannot close out his kick from the rail when he’s in third position.
If you are going to win a medal on this stage
you are accelerating past all of the bullshee.
Grant wasn’t accelerating past anything from 200 out.
I thought he had fantastic position, was surging, and had managed to get inside and almost even with Krop, who suddenly realized he should not be swinging wide like Athing Mu.
My apologies to Krop and Kenya.
Mo Ahmed clipped Grant from behind.
Fisher was going to medal.
The only way that overrated bum medals is if they suddenly decided to give away six medals per event.
In 6th place, with the plywood medal, Grant Fisher.
Krop was on the outside so Fisher was in the right position, I don’t know why everyone is complaining about his position. Krop moved in a couple inches too close, I really can’t blame him because he felt he had space. Fisher could have reacted better but it is hard to do at that point of the race.
