Hmm very strange. The wording in the report is incredibly vague...it seems the AIU wasn't able to test him on June 18, and after the result of an interview on July 14 he was suspended. Seems very strange that the interview determined his suspension. We need more details!

I know nothing about the alleged violation. However wasn't his father/coach involved in the Balco scandal?
This theory was my first thought, as well. And agree about the rule, but if Ross didn't know it, could have affected his decision.

Probably. That's how they got McNeal.
Also dumb either way - he could just have said that he didn't hear the doorbell or was shopping or in a traffic jam etc.

No surprise. The missed test loophole is a joke. Clean athletes have addressed this too, saying there's no way anyone should miss a test given that their one job and they have plenty of advanced notice. But if they're potentially going to test positive, the dirty athletes will miss a test to be sure. Abhorrent red flag. People are so naive to believe all the lies. Only the dumb ones get caught. Easy to not test positive.

Randolph Ross has never struck me as the most mature. Probably did something stupid like lying when the AIU knew he was dodging the test.
