With Dylan Jacobs coming and the rumor of possibly three to four other big names coming to the program, I believe Carlson will take this program from the dumps to the top of the SEC, NCAA South Region, and NCAA XC in the matter of months. They have a great young base and with the right transfers this program could make some noise at the national level.
I doubt it. He had an insane amount of talent last fall and was 9th. He will not have that depth this year. Maybe going forward they will be great. I can see them making ncaa but even if he has 5 really good ones, he had 12-13 really good ones at Notre dame.
So Tennessee will have Jacobs and Thiessen up front. Who are the next 3 gonna be?
Also, I can’t find any incoming world-class freshmen for Tennessee. I only found Conner Henson. He got 103rd at Eastbay.
Seems as if Tennessee has two incoming freshmen.
Connor Henson- Tennessee AA State Champ 15:21(XC), 1:55, 4:11 (1600), 9:11 (3200)
Isaac Thiessen- Virginia 3A State Champ 15:26(XC), 9:11 (3200)
I have heard that there are multiple All-American caliber talents in the portal within the SEC, PAC 12, and BIG 12 that are considering following Sean Carlson's move to Tennessee. These athletes are all speculation, so it will be interesting to see if any of these athletes end up at UT.

Really showing off that UT degree by opening with Tennessee’s program being in the doubles and closing out with them having a great young base.

No doubt Tennessee will be a powerhouse on the track, but all these folks who think that some magic wand has been waved over the XC team are hilarious. This team was BAD last year (7th behind some no name teams at regionals...their 5th man scored more points than the 2nd place team). You can make all the Thiessen arguments you want, but it's going to take more than a winner and another top 10 finish to make it out of that region...even though that region is weak. Alabama will continue to bring in Africans, Ole Miss still has twice the talent as Tennessee (only a couple mid D guys are going with Vanhoy), and Braman rarely misses. Lipscomb, who beat Tennessee by 100 points last year at regionals, isn't losing much and brought in some big names and rumor around South Bend is Carter Cheesemen is heading back to Nashville to attend Lipscomb. South region also has rarely received at larges. Unless Carlson takes the whole remaining team with him, it's going to take a while for him to build something...especially if he's working with predominantly NIL deals as rumored. He didn't do it over night at ND, he's not going to do it overnight at Tennessee.
PS. Those two incoming freshmen are definitely not impact guys, especially in the first couple of years.
