You're completely right, I accidentally looked at the results at 1 and 2 miles and saw them ahead. Serves me right for being so confident after glancing for 5 seconds
Dana Hills has still done some good things under Dunn. They made NXN in 2019 with so many new varsity runners and got 8th there. One reason why they aren’t doing so well this year is because they are young and lost some seniors like Jai Dawson. They could come back to NXN next year and the following years. They only got 2 seniors, a freshman and a sophomore (he is their #1 also!) on varsity.
Coach Dunn is a great guy happy to hear he is still at the helm there. Dana has such a strong tradition they’ll be fine I’m sure.
that whole area of Orange County is loaded with good running schools between Dana, Trabuco, Mission Viejo, SC, and Tesoro. They all used to be in one conference back in the old days

How much does it suck to be #2 to NP? Has Granada ever won a state title? They've had a strong program for decades.
I really hope that Granada at least makes NXN this year. This is another thing they have never done before. 6 seniors on the team.
Anyone surprised that they got crushed by San Clemente?
Great Oak almost beat Granada. One Cortes was missing. He doesn’t seem to be doing better this year so I’m not even sure it he would even help much anymore. Great oak doesn’t even have a low stick that Granada, Newbury and San Clemente do. So much for hiring someone that has never coached before to replace someone that has been building teams that used to contend for national championships for years.
2 at large bids is very unlikely this year. Outside of np, CA isn’t as strong as it used to be.
Some Granada guys had a bad day. Seems a lot of kids got pulled out too fast by the NP boys, the smart racers did well. Great Oak really wiped out going from #2 at mile mark to #4, San Clemente did the opposite going #4 to #2
Wow Granada’s jv got second place behind a good Central Catholic school from Oregon that was ranked preseason. granada sure got some depth. I wonder if they will ever win state in the future. Hopefully they make nxn this year and the younger kids on the team can use it as a motivation for themselves to excel. Would have been nice to Granada if NP was D1 for just 1 more year. Yes It would mean that San Clemente would get second but that’s ok. I think San Clemente will win D1 next year either way. Although trabauco hills seems like a threat to them next year. I think it will be between these 2 teams. Curious why they didn’t race at Clovis this year
I have Ventura winning d2 next year, and they will be the best team in the state overall imo. It will be hard for Granada to beat them next year.
