Great share, and I like Rowberry's openness here. Looks like we'll see her in a 5,000 in July, but unclear if that will be an official race/time trial. I would say it's pretty unlikely she runs the 1,500 based on the ups-and-downs of her recovery described in this article. Would you really want to do it with no races and Kipyegon the heavy favorite?
I think the 5/10 double makes sense (Day 2 AM- 10K, Day 6 PM - 5K Heats, Day 9 PM - 5K Final).
The 15/5 double is doable but less rest ahead and more racing of course. (Day 1 PM -1500 Heats, Day 2 PM - 1500 heats, Day 4 PM - 1500 finals, Day 6 PM - 5K Heats, Day 9 PM - 5K Final).
Dutchie here. The Dutch Athletics Federation just confirmed Hassan will running in Eugene. It has not yet been announced which distances she will be participating in.

Short answer: She needed a long time to mentally and physically recover after the triple. She started late training hard for her by beginning in January (so indoors wasn't part of the plans). She picked up an injury in the spring (presumably late March) when she'd open her season and then had Ramadan in April, which is demanding obviously. Things weren't clicking in May, so that's why she didn't race then. Apparently, she has been doing well the last month or so, so they have confidence even without racing she'll be a contender. A triple is not going to happen based on the sentiment from the article.

Has any athlete opened at the world championships and medaled? It seems crazy that this could be your first competition of the year and you can still be successful. Of course, we are talking about Hassan and she should never be counted out if she’s on the start line.

Not that I can think of, really. Even Makhloufi in 2019, while not competing at all in 2017-18 ran some low-key 800s and a couple of 1500s ahead of Doha.

In the second half of Bolt's career, he barely raced outside of global championships.

At least he had a couple of heats to warm up. Walking right into the 10000 final? That seems insane. I love that her “rust buster” might be the wc 5000 heat. If Hassan somehow medals, the legend only grows. One of my favorite things about her is that she’s so quirky in her career and is willing to take on challenges previously unheard of like the 1500/10000 double or the treble. To me, for fearlessness and range, Hassan is the goat distance runner of all time.

(Please don’t start in on the doping gossip).
What isnt gossip, and is a fact, is that she only has her current coach because her last one is literally still serving a doping ban. If you're one of the fastest athletes in history achieving hitherto unparalleled success with a sketchy coach who got banned, I'm sorry but that's gonna follow you forever. You can debate til the cows come home on how fair or unfair that is but that's how it is.
Similarly, if you want to assert your opinion that she's the GOAT, it's totally fair for fans in that discussion to point out that fact, and to find that a compelling reason not to put her on the highest of pedestals.
