Unfortunate for them, and I don't think Kandie will get in on rankings, because I reckon no more spots are available that way for 10000m.
I just did the work on this and Kandie will rise to the following score 1170+10=1180 with his 1240 from road to records. That will equal 1210 average and around 17th rank. That *should* be a position where he should be selected
Thanks, and I'd like to see Kandie go to worlds this year, but is that how it works? There are 30 athletes (3 per nation max.) qualified for men's 10000m. 29 of them have achieved the standard while 1 (Daniel do Nascimento) is qualified by virtue of winning last years' South American Championships 10000m. The target number of athletes in the event is 27, so I suppose Kandie's only chance is relying on others to scratch? If I'm wrong in anyway, I stand corrected.

After looking, I suppose Birhanu Balew, Morhad Amdouni, Bashir Abdi, Daniel do Nascimento and Stephen Kissa may well scratch in favor of another event.

All we know is 1) Kandie wants to compete at Worlds 2) Once the new rankings come out he *should* be eligible to be one of Kenya's 3 by virtue of a high World Ranking and a field that isn't totally full 3) His agent Gianni Demadonna is high-powered and certainly doesn't want his athlete relegated to the Commonwealth Games I bet 4) There's no guarantee Athletics Kenya and World Athletics don't screw this up.
The olympic silver medalist finished 11th in a 1:48. Top 8 all ran under the world standard
His 32 and probably winding down after medaling in two straight global championships. I notice the Diamond League doesn't like to deviate from its invitation list by injecting new blood mid season.
Hey Loppas a couple factors: I’m assuming Adizero Road to Records is a requirement in his contract so that’s one. Otherwise I think it comes down to money as he earns a big payday for every road 10K he runs and there’re few 10,000s to be run on the track (hence the Ten etc.). Do his agency might have to set one up and foot the bill. Either way he *should* become eligible after the next update. Hoping the same for Spain’s Mario Garcia Romo
The race was tactical, Covett. But George did well for 5th in 3:35. I think he'll be back to his old self by next season. Just needs to work on his last 100m.
Yes George’s best race in some time. The top 4 were clearly separated however.
Yes since George ran 3:31.49 in Monaco 2019. Last years his best was 3:38.
Looks like Noah Kibet has replaced Cornelius Tuwei on the 800m. team as Kibet beat Tuwei (5th and 7th respectively).
The 800m men's result of the Kenya trials has been corrected to show Noah Kibet in 5th. The original results had him in 8th and Tuwei in 5th. Kibet has been added to the World Championships team in place of Tuwei. pic.twitter.com/2uDR5nKeG4
Did he lol? I'll have to rewatch, but the best time is probably with Ngeny (not enough tests I presume) and the next best team has Kibet on it over Festus Lagat. Like Festus, but his upside isn't as high as Kibet's
