Semihaze has more wrong about Tuohy than any other poster because she posts that she is shocked after every race. But you are correct that I have been wrong about her. I predicted her to win XC. She let me down. I predicted that she would win indoor. She let me down. I then predicted her for 2nd outdoor with Roe winning but Tuohy won. I probably did better predicting those 3 finishes than anyone else here though. I predict that she will finish 7th this week. How about you?
Well if you're just going to lie or if you don't actually write that stuff down then it doesn't mean anything
Show the thread where you posted that she was going to win cross country because no one said that on the board
Poster thread where you said she was going to win indoors
I can tell you I predicted NC State would win cross country and then I predicted that she would win indoors and outdoors so I was pretty close
I started the thread saying congratulations on first national championship right before indoors
Henes and or 2e will be right in it with one lap to go
It's hard to predict 2e because I don't think she actually wants to make the team as I think this is her right last race of the season...
So she definitely could kind of throw in the towel at some point
But I think that there's only two runners that we'll still have an edge on her over the next year and the argument that a lot of this field is stronger than her or out of her league is crazy
Unfortunately, and maybe already mentioned - it's going to be very very warm for her 5K final, and she still doesn't have the World Q (I know she has the 'world 'ranking', but she could move down off that list). And as far as "it's hard to predict 2e because I don't think she actually wants to make the team",... where you getting that??
Does not matter that much-- nobody here from the US seems to be much of a medal factor on the world stage. Not sure why Monson is not in the race though:

That's what Tuohy fans say so that they can't be wrong whether she runs well or runs poorly. Tuohy fans under predict her but lose their minds if anyone picks people to beat her.
So 7th is over predicting? You made my point. You predict 10th and go crazy when she finishes 7th. I predict 7th and get it right but you don't like the prediction even though you say I am putting her too high.
Uhh, have you been following her career? She is one of the biggest fighters I've ever seen; she is NOT going to throw in the towel. She will go as hard as she can and if by chance makes the team but doesn't want to go will graciously yield her spot to the next in line. There is no way she finishes this race anything less than totally spent.
She's 20. She's a rising junior. The pro scene is pretty dang competitive compared to the past.
A poster earlier said it's likely 6-8.
I want to add to this and say, that grandiose visions of Tuohy are hurtful too because when she doesn't rise to impossible standards it makes her look like a failure.
She's already doing an incredible job. She is a force to be reckoned with. She is an NCAA Champion. But she still has more progress to make before she can keep pace with Olympic level women who have been at it for years!
Since she made the team in the 10,000, she and her coach decided not to have her run the 5,000 at USAs this close to Worlds.
There were several threads on her decision on this board. While posters did agree on whether Monson was a coward or a traitor for not running the 5 at nats, I think most posters agreed Monson's decision played a major role in the declining popularity of T&F in the US.
