And yes I called you monkees because the misspelling is unlikely to be detected by your ilk. You are so bent out of shape over a trivial cause and yet truly important matters mean nothing to. Your concern about poor Jane’s HS volleyball team being invaded by Jack shows you have lost touched with reality.
I upvoted you, because I don't find this sort of behavior (whining and name calling) to be a mark of intelligence, and I figured I'd contribute to the spirit of the thread (as you claim to see it).
Nobody has provided an intelligent refutation of Megan’s comment on this thread. I am waiting but of course it will not happen because it cannot happen. The fact that most of you cannot see that speaks volumes.
It feels as if we've moved on from Rapinoe's comments, in large part, to discuss the issue behind them. And yet, I think if you actually read through the thread, you'll find plenty of people talking about the full context of what she said, the full quote (as opposed to the snippet used in the title), and their reactions to and opinions on her quote based on that fuller context. There's even a post a few above this that expresses an opinion that sometimes fairness trumps inclusion, other times maybe inclusion trumps fairness -- and unless you have more context to Rapinoe's full quote that I don't see, that appears to be her gist: inclusion of trans kids is more important than fairness of the sports they invade. That's an opinion I disagree with, but you're blind or being intentionally obtuse if you don't think people have been discussing that.

EXCEPT this “invasion” is being exaggerated to trigger hysteria in the imbeciles who generally comprise the mob of the aggrieved who are now playing the victim card which they so condemn in others.
So the volleyball team is simultaneously 1) unimportant enough that my daughter shouldn't care if she loses her roster sport or her starting role to a biological male, and 2) important enough that the trans individual may kill themselves over not having a roster spot?
What an @sshole. I wonder how she would feel if someone told her that her team isn't that important.
She made a career on a women's sport that doesn't allow men, but sorry you're not important enough for that privilege
Megan Rapinhoe's world cup team lost to some 15 year old boys. Talk about a team of no importance.
Allyson Felix is a famous female sprinter who has done a lot for the sport. her older bro Wes would totally dust her in every distance, who has heard of Wes Felix?
Any decent high school boys 4x1 team would destroy our USA ladies national team.
I can totally annilate my wife in arm wrestling.
All of this trans stuff is so totally wrong to the point of comical. What man needs to beat females to begin with, so what he beat some gils, whow big deal.
Time to put a stop to all this, hell no a man can't compete vs females, simple common sense.

And my guess is she has the edge as a speller. But the truth is Deno, your views are from another era. You are going to be increasingly alienated from a society that is evolving but you remain a prisoner of outdated views. I almost feel sorry for you but you appear to be almost happy in your ignorance.

There will never come a time a man competing on a womens sports team is anything but wrong. So what in the hell are you talking about? No my man it's not me being anything other than a guy with some common sense. I have no business looking to play girls in anything, why would I? And any man where the best he can do is compete vs the girls has some probems. Wow that 6-3 249 pound man beat some girls.......how stupid is that?
Cool trying to peddle.....nowadays it;s ok for men to compete vs the girls.....hell no it isn't yep....wrong!
The odds are that the same men who are always expressing rage against transgender participation in sports are the very same folks who are more likely to physically abuse women. Note that I did not assert that they do abuse women but are more likely to.
Wrong!
I have a daugher and three older sisters all of them were high school athletes, noway in hell I want to see some guy out there competing against them, actually I would have said something about it.

Even if you assert that it is wrong, you also think homosexuality is wrong so you are like a caveman who has just emerged from the darkness and is yelling “what the hell is going on out there?”
But another poster on the previous page has already refuted that argument. If it is unfair in the Olympics, it is unfair in the municipal softball league. No level of competition is "low" enough to accept what he calls cheating. And that view has been endorsed by multiple posters on this board.
I don't particularly care what others may have refuted.....or think they did.
Good for you. I am just amused so many "defenders of women's sports" suddenly pop up whenever there is an intersex or transgender person involved. Where can I find them when we are discussing Title IX?

This really is all about perspective. If your default Is that trans females are not real, or are male predators, or short of that, male narcissists or males looking to take advantage, then of course, banning them from female sports makes sense. If your perspective is that trans females are a vulnerable group, the subject of hate, denial and discrimination even more than biological females, then you are going to be pushing for inclusion. Is it possible both can be true? Is it possible that Lia Thomas and the lone HS JV athlete in Utah impacted by the new law should be treated differently with respect to inclusion because of both the competition level and because of their past athletic experience, age, maturity, etc?
Frustrated that their concerns have not been addressed by administrators and the MIAA, opponents of boys playing against girls in field hockey took their cause to the State House.
